"Thank you Kharkiv!» I ask, forgiveness, wrote the first word with an error. Such banners placed fans from Netherlands on all city.
So you guys don't say spacibo?

In my experience, that is what I have only heard. Perhaps spacibo is common in Dniepropetrovsk?

It is simple written in official language - Ukrainian. He some differs from Russian. But for us practically all, free own by two languages. And on East and South of Ukraine Russian is basic.

In Ukraine many students-physicians are from India, Syria, Jordan, Africa. So must not they go for football of local commands, they ate study and live in this country 6 years?
I understand that to be a rhetorical question. But it needs to be asked to the skinheads in your country.
This kinda stuff did not happen in the Soviet Union.

OT @akim: I heard that in Eastern Ukraine, majority of people are ok with the idea of reuniting with Russian Federation. And I also heard that Putin has said (in private) that if the USA dares take Ukraine into NATO, then Russia might annex Eastern Ukraine. True?

This is an interesting discussion.

Akim, if this does not make you uncomfortable, I would invite you to open a new thread with a generic title, so that we can discuss this topic.

Again, only if you are comfortable with it. :)

Addendum:

Freedom of religion is guaranteed by law, although religious organizations are required to register with local authorities and with the central government. There is no formal state religion. Minority rights are respected in accordance with a 1991 law guaranteeing ethnic minorities the right to schools and cultural facilities and the use of national languages in conducting personal business. According to the constitution, Ukrainian is the only official state language. In Crimea and some parts of eastern Ukraine--areas with substantial ethnic Russian minorities--local and regional governments permit Russian as a language for local official correspondence.

The Crimean peninsula is home to a number of pro-Russian political organizations that advocate secession of Crimea from Ukraine and annexation to Russia. Crimea was ceded by the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic (RSFSR) to the Ukrainian SSR in 1954, in recognition of historic links and for economic convenience, to mark the 300th anniversary of Ukraine's union with Russia. In July 1992, the Crimean and Ukrainian parliaments determined that Crimea would remain under Ukrainian jurisdiction while retaining significant political, economic, and cultural autonomy.

She it be not that uncomfortable - simply affect national interests of my country and I nobody want to offend in general conversation, by the opinion. Simply I see -так. And someone will count up, that it is not correct. Simply if to me this question was set by Russian - that I him would answer on a forum. But to discuss "for not eyes"(absence) other – this not beautifully.

No problem. I have already provided some insight and a link to answer Razor's question. I understand, it is perhaps not appropriate for you to say anything that goes against the territorial integrity of your country.

In the USSR, the law banned public displays racism and xenophobia. And for all of propaganda Nazism him could put on the long term.

Yes if you live in a country accept the local customs and traditions. All glorious ideals. Indians more so than other immigrants do that or are willing to do that. But there are certain things immigrants should not do. Going to a football match may be insignificant in the larger scheme of things. Hell even in Engerland you got to be careful not to get caught up. There is a lot of friendly banter on the terraces. But sometimes things get out of control and if you get caught out, you are solely responsible. That more applicable in Eastern Europe.

Personally I have good friends who are Serbs, Czechs, Russians. They are nice people like us, want to make money and get out of UK when time comes. But football terraces are different things and one has to be careful.

AFAIK there were no major incidents with rascism both in Ukraine in Poland during Euro 2012. However it should be advised for foreigners to be carefull when they see footbal hooligans. Contrary to normal citizens and football fans, hooligans tend to be rascist and can attack and beat foreigners. Police in both countries try to fight with them, but this is a difficult problem, not easy to solve.

But as I said, hooligans and rascists are minority, general population of Ukraine and most eastern and central european countries are very against rascism, mainly due to historical factors.
