This can be easily avoided laying multiple train lines. I would prefer elevated corridor for HSR trains.
Current thought process seems to lay more dedicated freight corridors.

But it all depends on the two DFC which are being built right now.

Yes. That shld have happened in the last 70 yrs. But finally things are on the right path. Delhi Nagpur line is getting quadrapuled. DFCC lines will also free up lot of capacity with goods trains moving separately.

Ok i was wrong!

The new WAGC3 generates 5000hp per unit, up from 2600hp of each WADG3A used (along with sidewalls and roofs of decommissioned WAM4 electric locos) permanently coupled together, the pair generates an astounding 10000hp...
The brand new WAG12s has 12000hp (couldn't clear trials as of now) & India's present top freight hauler WAG9 does "only" 6000hp!

Top speed 100km/hr:hail::hail: SUPER FUCKING AWESOME

That's how India must continue the jugaad culture. Done in record time of 68 days, this is as great as Train-18!
Actually WAG12 were permitted to run at 65kmph in the existing BG route in eastern sector. The whole current infra of railway needs an upgradation in terms of track to attain 100kmph. Upgradation is currently in progress, but in existing tracks, these are cleared to operate in 65kmph .

The plan was to replace Indian Railways' WAG9 engines by WAG12 engines in a phased manner, raising speed up to 100+kmph for freight... That permit is of little effect & not because of the quality of tracks.

As far as i know, WAG12 had several teething problems with suspension & failed trials in September...so Alstom was given 275 days to fix those.
But in 2nd trail in October at 60km/h, it got derailed (& apparently hit something) as a result of problem in its braking...so now the project is officially on hold.

If WAG11 made by converting & coupling diesel WDG4 succeeds in trials, then i doubt we'll go for "assemble-in-India" WAG12 instead of that.
(Informative videos for the interested.)
Actually, if WAG9 (that are to be upgraded to 9000hp from present 6000hp) are modified & coupled together, then in future we may have 18000hp loco.
Also each unit of WAG11 are of the length of WDG4 (22m on one-cabin model), much longer than WAG9 (20.5m with both side's cabins). If the 2 WAG9 units are elongated to generate 10000hp than it may even be 20000hp & will beat China's record (19000something).

Fuck WAG12 & fuck Alstom.

What you have stated might be true, but this is what been observed and put down into the provisional speed certificate provided to WAG 12.

Now it is a 11 year project with first 5 to be direct import from France. So in long run WAG12 would come to India. But infrastructure upgrade is what needed to run it in 100% efficiency.

Bogibeel Bridge inauguration. Complete journey over bridge

In the Tinsukia-Naharlagun Intercity Express. See the enthusiasm of the locals at the other end of the bridge!

Was watching the live telecast yesterday. The enthusiasm of passengers were also a sight to behold when Modi started waving at them. But the damn MSM, started telecasting Katrina and Deepika just then. Thanks to regional news channel who captured the whole event.

Indian Railways now has a new ‘USTAAD’ to check its train coaches; know all about this new safety robot

Indian Railways now has a new “USTAAD” to ensure safety! In an innovative move, the national transporter has developed a new robot system for undergear surveillance of train coaches. Called Undergear Surveillance Through Artificial Intelligence Assisted Droid or simply USTAAD, the new robot reduces chances of human error while examining undergear equipment on Indian Railways trains. The Mechanical Branch of the Nagpur Division of Central Railways has developed this new robot USTAAD. The robot has an HD rotating camera that not only allows for real-time monitoring if required, but also gives a more accurate view of the under gear than the human eye can catch. Some of the very proficient features and practical capabilities of the robot are as follows:

Robot equipped with HD camera:

For the constructive and appropriate examination of train’s coaches or wagon’s parts, the robot has been facilitated with HD (high-definition) camera. This HD camera is able to move 320 degrees on X axis and 130 degrees on Y axis so that the maximum portion of under gear gets covered. The camera captures video as well as still photographs of the under gear parts of the coaches in real time and then, can transfer them over Wi-Fi. The engineer can study these videos on the big screen and can record the same. The HD camera of USTAAD can be rotated in any direction as per commands given by the engineer. The camera can also zoom in or zoom out on the spot, during safety inspection.

Robot with LED flood lights:

The robot is also equipped with LED (light-emitting diode) flood lights and is able to capture the videos in low light conditions as well as in dark mode. With the help of the robot’s technical power, the chances of any mistake overlooked by the human eye can be eliminated, which, in turn, reduces the chances of human error. With the help of USTAAD, engineers can easily analyse and examine areas which are difficult to see and impossible to approach manually. Cramped and narrow spaces, between or under the gear parts, can be easily captured by the robot.

Sound detection by USTAAD:

The robot can also tap the sound of flat tyre, during placement of the rake on the Pit Line. This is particularly important for prior detection of flat tyre, in order to keep a check on the train’s swift journey.

USTAAD robot, based on artificial intelligence, may turn out to be a boon for Indian Railways as it looks to enhance safety standards.

Flat tyre on train coaches? :confused1: I would have never imagined that would be a problem for trains.
