I propose a general fitness test in the police forces to keep them in check.
Police folks see no need of keeping in shape after passing police test.
A bare minimum of physical standards must be maintained upto a age of 30 so that they don't lose steam.

Nice to see all this but one thing we are all missing out on, what is supoosed to be their doctrine for operation of these Police SF.
Which type or mission are they supposed to do.
Do they have the same police rights or any special operational rights, like nabbing a high values target without warrant, tap into Mainstream police intelligence, have special operation groups for target mission. Etc.

Do they have separate procurement policies then the general police?

Who do they take their orders from?

A pseudo NSG like force in evey state has a huge untapped potential.

Police CT/SWAT scenario in India is totally different from rest of the world. In foreign countries SWAT guys mostly engage armed robbers, criminals or drug lords. Here our SWAT teams are trained exclusively against jihaadis. Criminals firing on even regular cops is a rare thing here.

These guys work under ATS as their HIT. Some state units work closely with other state intelligence units. Yes they do have a right to nab high value target on their own. ( This can be different for different states taking their respective state politics into account )

Yes they do have separate procurement policies and more than enough funds for the tasks they are actually doing. That's why we see a lot of modern firearms and support equipment with them. After 26/11 most of the states raised their CT/SWAT units and in recent years they are getting some good upgrades.

Currently SWAT guys are engaged in election duties, flag marches, I & R Day security, responding to high alerts, patrolling on streets, CM security, escorting criminals etc etc.
