Also the agreement has options to buy it at the end of agreement. No russian officer is on chakra 2, chakra 1 had though. For all intents and purposes chakra 2 has been bought by india. Chakra 3 again is a buy with technology transfer since our engineers will be working from the start. Also technology transfer of High power next gen miniature nuclear reactors for our subs and aircraft carrier is included hence the steep price..:biggrin2:

Wrong! Complexity iss in miniaturising nuclear reactor and hull design to absolutely reduce noise. India needs a smaller and more powerful reactor and Russia is the only country other than US, France, UK and China to have expertise!
The miniaturizing of the nuclear reactor was already done! That was the ATV project - S1 !!
Nope that was for 83 MW. For an SSN you need double.
That must be the fabled INS Aridhaman. Once we have that, we're much closer to 2-front capability.
