India removes barricades outside US embassy, asks for salaries paid to Indian staff: So, India puts in motion what we believe will be an effective way to address the issue of the humiliation of its diplomat in the US, Devyani Khobragade.

To begin with, US diplomats in consulates all over the country have been asked to surrender their identity cards, while import permits are also being withdrawn.

Senior leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Sushilkumar Shinde and Narendra Modi have refused to meet a US Congress delegation. In fact, all ministers had been told boycott the US delegation.

Further, according to a tweet by NDTV's Nitin Gokhale, the Delhi Police will remove all barricades outside the US Embassy with immediate effect.

India has also asked for details of salaries paid to Indian employees.

Yashwant Sinha echoes KC.

Meanwhile, Senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has raised eyebrows with a comment that after the arrest and alleged mistreatment of diplomat Devyani Khobragade in the US, India should reciprocate by arresting the same sex companions of American diplomats using a Supreme Court verdict that restored a ban on gay sex last week. "My suggestion to the Government of India is, the media has reported that we have issued visas to a number of US diplomats' companions. 'Companions' means that they are of the same sex. Now, after the Supreme Court ruling, it is completely illegal in our country. Just as paying less wages was illegal in the US. So, why doesn't the government of India go ahead and arrest all of them? Put them behind bars, prosecute them in this country and punish them," Sinha said.

I think there is somebody in US state department or Pentagon who has masterminded
this whole thing and is deliberately spoiling the relations between the two countries

NYPD is one of the worst police departments in the world. They are manned by extremely unprofessional, stupid, and incompetent, seemingly high school passouts. Slightly better is the FBI, another completely incompetent organization.
But really, your villain here is the prosecutor, so I am not going to argue your attack on US law enforcement.

Do you seriously expect us to believe that a two-bit prosecutor went on his own accord and arrested a foreign diplomat without any consultation with higher-ups in Washington?

Your sources are Indian, far from NYC, USA and they just echo each other's hysteria, producing a cacophony whose purpose is to make the accused a victim. If the accused was in fact mistreated, let her advocates file a civil suit. All the media and diplomatic uproar shines no light on the legal case.

Your absurd avatars and your misrepresentation of your sex are an insult to every DFI member.

Keep your obsession to yourself and maybe you will be taken seriously.

We should arrest US lady diplomat and send her to Tihar for 23 hours and then US will know what it means to have shown diplomatic immunity to dustbin.

Some people only understand language in which they speak.

This is really a Chinese way of sidelining the issue & showing ignorance.

Under any circumstances this kind of treatment is uncalled for that too against a lady diplomat.

How the US might react to the similar treatment given to it's diplomat?

That action would have no bearing on the guilt or innocence in the case under discussion.

Don't we have a separate thread for conspiracy theories?

Oh ho! The nuclear option - - comparing me to Chinese. Well played.:whoa:

If India wants justice, refute the criminal case and bring civil suit against the prosecutor.

i am sure we can find lots of things which is US diplomats are doing in India which are illegal, including hiring of services by them. Plus spying is illegal under International laws, US spied on the airwaves of foreign country, which is against the law.

I agree with all the measures taken in reciprocation, except the removal of traffic barriers near the US embassy.
Political tussles will go on, but security should not be played with.
After 9 years of dozing, it is a good show put up by the electorally motivated GoI ;)

Why dont you be honest and open about what the USA really wants

why all these under hand techniques

And going by the Indian diplomatic "response " it is clear that Indian diplomat
is on the right side of the law
