Barrel of T-90 battle tank explodes in Pokhran test range during firing practice session
The barrel of a T-90 Russian battle tank exploded in Jaisalmer's Pokhran field firing range on Wednesday during a tank firing practice session.

The barrel of the T-90 Russian tank exploded with a huge bang.

However, so far, the reason as to what led to the explosion of the barrel has not been revealed.

As no army personnel was near the tank at the time of the incident, a huge tragedy was averted.

Senior Army officials reached the site of the incident and began investigating the matter.

The Pokhran test site is located 45 km north-west of Pokhran town and 4 km north of Khetolai village in Jaisalmer.

That happened 2 yrs back. We competed last year with Russian T72.

My guess is that we won’t be seeing any progress on wheeled APC until there is atleast another competing product to start the competition.

I think the guy tweeting made a mistake.. BMP2 had capacity of 7 soldiers not 10..

A new 45 ton class tank and a lighter 30 ton should be the priority.
