    So By 2022 We wil only hav 20 IOC Tejas and 20 FOC Tejas.:shock:.

    Here people r dreaming for
    83 mk1A Tejas by 2022:frusty::frusty:

    Thast for trainer - Trainer will get delivered only after FOC planes are delivered so the stretched timeslines are for trainers not for fighters.

    Progress In Production of Tejas
    Light Combat Aircraft Tejas has already achieved Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) in December 2013 for fighter version of aircraft and 10 fighter version aircraft have been delivered to Indian Air Force. These aircraft are equipped with various combat equipment as envisaged for IOC version of aircraft.

    Final Operational Clearance (FOC) was initially planned by Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) for December 2012. However the same has not yet been achieved by ADA.

    Delays in attaining FOC have been mainly due to delay in finalization of Air to Air Refuelling contract; challenges faced in integration of Air to Air Refuelling probe and associated major hardware (structural modification) and software (Flight control software) modification & flight testing etc.

    Two contracts were signed between Indian Air Force (IAF) and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., (HAL) for procurement of (i) 20 Initial Operational Clearance (IOC) standard aircraft, including 16 IOC fighters and 04 trainers on 31st March 2006 to be completed in December 2011 and (ii) 20 Final Operational Clearance (FOC) standard aircraft including 16 FOC fighters and four trainers on 23rd December 2010 to be completed by December 2016.

    Till date, out of 16 IOC fighter aircraft, 10 fighters have been delivered by HAL and are operational with IAF’s 45 Squadron. The delivery of remaining 6 IOC fighter aircraft is planned by March, 2019. The production of 4 IOC trainer aircraft would be taken up only after design clearance from ADA. Production of 20 FOC aircraft will be taken up only after FOC by ADA.

    This information was given by Raksha Rajya Mantri Dr. Subhash Bhamre in a written reply to Shri Anubhav Mohanty in Rajya Sabha today.

    FOC pushed back indeterminately! HAL has delivered 10 IOC Tejas, will (miraculously?) deliver 6 more by Mar 31! 4 trainer manufacture pending trainer design completion by ADA!! SNAFU all the way! Happy 2019!

    What a pathetic military industrial complex is this. All PSU’s needs to be closed down or sell off to private sector with pink slips to all babus.

    Gd mng you all.. .wish u all a happy new year...foc is on jan 4...
    All foc activities completed.....will be declared officially on jan 4....on the Eve of first flight of tejas on 2001....what else could be The best new year gift?
    Already 10 SP..delivered......... and more will come before march end........ok I believe gun firing is out of tejas.........

    Again some journous are crying of meteor....... we dont need meteor we have astra ...derby er ........enough for tejas....and we have astra 2......which will based on sfdr ......in development....

    As far as FOC for the Tejas Mk-1 is concerned, 90% of radar & EW functionality had been achieved according to people in the know. The full functionality software upgrade could even be done after induction.Gun vibration tests had shown that the mounting needed some stiffening.

    No, indigenous Tejas light combat aircraft is not getting final operational clearance (FOC) just yet! It’s just that the designs have been frozen to ensure production facilities are not left idle. FOC will come only after all systems are integrated & proven in extensive trials!

    From TOIlet news that’s has been doing nothing but spreading negativity about LCA from day one.

    If FOC design is frozen then FOC production can commence as all hardware designs can be frozen. What’s to crib about? All IOC SPs are on the jig and then FOC production will commence (orders already placed) to be delivered sometime in 2020 so there’s no real rush, as long as the final certifications and validation trails are complete in the next 18 months then there will be no issue.

    This IS a significant moment but you see the snakes and sellouts coming out to play it down.

    123 LCA by 2023/4 when in 2014 the IAF has only ever committed to 40 and there was no such thing as MK.1A.

    This project has totally changed in the last 4 years, don’t let the trolls try and diminish this.

    I know Rajat Pandit is not a very popular source to quote but see what Sourav Jha have to say about this.

    If FOC designs are frozen and HAL is commencing their production then these structural issues are all addressed. The only thing that can be changed now is software.

    The final Drawing Applicability Lists #DAL of #Tejas released to HAL yesterday. This means, technically #FOC is in for the project
