Raad can possibly be launched from JF-17. I guess 2 can be carried.

Nasr is a tactical weapon meant to be used against troops on the frontlines, like artillery.
Total weapons carrying capacity of JF17 is 3600 kg. Weight of Raad along with warhead will be(1100 +450) 1550kg. Is there any point on the plane which can carry so much weight??

Then how will a Raad carrying Jf17 identify its target, since its radar range is 130-150 km?

How good/effective will be Babur and Ra'ad against Indian targets considering future Indian Army and Air-Force acquisitions of LR (Barak-8)/MR (Akash-ER/2)/SR(possibly Spyder) ?
Your analysis :D
Cruise missiles primarily depend on stealth. Otherwise any good SAM system or aircraft can kill it.

The question to ask is if our radars are enough to detect cruise missiles. Due to the cruise missiles low altitude capability and low profile it is best countered using aircraft. Aircraft like Mig-31 were designed to use their big radars to find small targets. According to the Russians, they have the capability to stop more than 80% of the Tomahawks fired over Iraq using Mig-31s alone.

AEWCs can also find cruise missiles and vector aircraft towards it.

The 1100Kg figure should include the warhead.

We are yet to see a JF-17 carrying Raad. Mirage-IIIs carry it and they have a payload of 4 tons.

Raad is a cruise missile. It doesn't require radar guidance. It uses GPS and possibly TERCOM. It will be used against pre-designated targets.

It makes sense to base the MKI there. There are LR radars and now AWACs /AEROSTAT which do a good job of picking up anything that moves in pakistani airspace. The MKI with BARS and in future IRBIS-E essentially keeps the entire pakistani airspace under our surveillance. Of course they need to be backed up by Tejas and SAM's. The raad, barber etc can be easily countered by AKASH, Barak-LR and Spyder-MR.

What would be the RCS of a plane carrying that much weight??

I do not know if this is the first base close to the border to have SU 30. Just today saw SU 30s based at Jodhpur airport , a few were in the open and could peek a few under hardened shelters.

There also maybe satellites that are sending data in real time.

MIG radar finds and shoots down a UAV
