More than weapons it's motivation that is required in war,and we sure have a better reason to defend our territory than China

India misleading its public about war preparedness.Countries dont set time period saying they'll be ready by this year to fight any war but they have to be always on their toes to fight anytime anywhere.For,you never know when,where and how the war will be imposed on you.So stop beating war drums and silently but effectively prepare for it out of media glare.Statements are just for public consumption.

There is a problem, you know India spent billions dollar on purchase finished weapons from Russia Europe and USA in recent years, these weapons will be dated, my question is will they be eliminated quietly?

China also spent much money on weapons, but always seeking home-made, the capability of making weapon is continuously improving. It will likely happens in near future that China's fourth generation fighter in the air while LCA still not in service.

surely by 2015 we cannot compete with china in numbers.we have to grow or purchase quality weapons rather than quantity. to face china in war we have to grow our asymetric capabilities for example agni 5,bmd,hypersonic cruise missiles like bhramos 2,pak-fa,stealth frigates and destroyers,asat weapons,kali 5000 etc.

who is beating war drums ? Did the government or some services chief make this 2015 statement? That kargilsoldier1999 guy was quoting the opinion of some military personnel. Besides we are on modernization drive, spending billions like never before. There is nothing wrong in implying that in 2015 our military will be much stronger.

That's probably because we are a democracy and if our public and media feel are country is in grave danger that could affect the goverment in power. Whereas our enemies are more or less totalitarian regimes, they don't have to fear public opinion or a puppet media and can remain silent.

This is something that democracies do not have need to openly discuss this; two reasons I think India is doing this for maybe two reasons . One maybe we are letting the public know that the government will be spending huge amounts for weapons acquisition and secondly which is a remote possibility is we are already prepared.

Army lacks modern artillery guns how are they gonna fight in the mountains notice am not commenting navy because we are talking a situation sudden attack in certain areas in India more like kargil one not high intensity conflict.

PS;think about it the potent combat force of the IAF for now exclude Mig-27 and Mig-21 is roughly around 300 or 400 planes that's the size of Israeli Airforce

India has some advantages which it need to optimise;
1)it has mountain warfare experience and AFAIK one of the most potent one in this combat situation.
2)Air force has the know how in high altitude mountain bombings.
3)if fight occurs it'll be mostly defensive i.e for the motherland this has good influence on soldiers morale.

dude...than by 2015 we will have LCA for IAF will start arriving in full swing....MMRCA will also be awarded and so jets are going to arrive ASAP....

M777 is under negotiation for our mountain division on chinese side.....

so please dont talk about pakistan we can take on china as of 2015.....and this is just the two branches of our military....even our navy can decide the fate of any war my friend....
