KARACHI: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi, will arrange second Made in Pakistan exhibition from March 24 to 28 in Chandigarh, India, a statement said on Saturday.
The exhibition, also supported by Rawalpindi and Islamabad chambers of commerce and industry, would showcase Pakistani furniture, textile made-ups, handicrafts, onyx, dry fruits, cutlery, gemstones, melamine, kitchenware, and sports goods. More than 60 companies and around 150 delegates from Pakistan would attend the event.
The trade fair would also feature a Pakistani food court and a cultural troupe, the statement added.
"We are confident that this event will help introduce Pakistani products in India and provide a forum for interaction between the businessmen of the two countries. This will also enhance the bilateral trade between the two neighbours that is dismally low," said Khurshid Barlas, CEO, Pak World Trade and Expo Centre, the organisers of the event.
The two-way trade has the potential to grow manifold from the current estimate of around $2 billion only, he said, adding that the expo would hopefully strengthen the economic and trade relations between Pakistan and India.
The Jang Group and Times of India, under the Aman Ki Asha initiative, are the media sponsors of the exhibition.
