India planning to procure two more AWACS for IAF: Government - The Economic Times
NEW DELHI: India is planning to procure two more Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) for the Indian Air Force, Lok Sabha was informedtoday.
"Three AWACS are already operationalised in the IAF and there is a proposal for procurement of two additional AWACS," Defence Minister A K Antony said in a written reply.
He said the long-term integrated perspective plan seeks to have a mix of large AWACS aircraft and small Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system aircraft.
DRDO is also working towards developing indigenous AEW and C system on the Embraer aircraft and it is expected to be completed within 84 months.
To another query, Antony said, "Due to inclement weather, heavy snow accumulation, avalanches and landslides fencing along the LoC gets damaged."
The government is aware that terrorists attempt infiltration throughout the year including during the winter months whenthe fence is covered by snow or repair works are in progress, he said.
Antony said additional proactive measures in terms of surveillance and troop deployment are undertaken to foil infiltration attempts.

These are sitting ducks for China's latest anti-radiation missile, the 1.8-tonne HQ-8, which is powered by an advanced liquid-solid ramjet and has a range of over 400km。

Perhaps the Chinese have not heard of the Novator in service with the IAF. Do you see us bragging about it?
Also then they possibly imagine that the whole world has no jamming systems.

all these cleared deals are put on hold, They scrapped the tender multiple times, again and again Airbus A 330 won the pre conditions set by IAF.

As of now the deal is put on hold, which means it's papers

India Signs $1.4bn Contracts With Israel

by Anirudh Singh

NEW DELHI
- India quietly signed two contracts worth $1.4bn with Israel Aerospace Industries for the purchase of two additional Phalcon/IL-76 Airborne Early Warning and Control Systems (AWACS) valued at $1 billion and 10 Heron TP unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) during the recent visit of Israeli President Reuven Rivil to India.
The contracts were signed in New Delhi on 16th November in the presence of Brig. Gen. (Retd) Mishel Ben Baruch, Director, SIBAT, Israel Ministry of Defense and Indian defense secretary G Mohan Kumar.
An Indian Air force (IAF) official said the purchase of two AWACS has been pending for the past five years and the deliveries should be made within the next two to three years. “Phalcon AWACS are tremendous force-multipliers and we are having an excellent experience with them,” the official added.
