We don't need to have any relationship with Pakistan. That is suicide. They hate us and let them, we shall separate ourselves from them. That is good and safe for India. And claims of people-to-people interaction and business ties helping ease out tensions between us is all a hoax. A Muslim Pakistan will always hate a Hindu India. If Kashmir issue is solved, then they will accuse us with Indus water treaty as a major issue. If that is solved then they will accuse us of economic terrorism. It is a never ending process, the hatred.

Going by recent developments, Pakistan is acting on its promises of combating terrorism on its soil. But more has to be done to assure the world and reinforce their faith in Pakistan's anti terror stand.

Indian warship makes contact with Pakistani naval vessels near western coast
KOLKATA: Two warships of the Western Fleet were scrambled from Mumbai on Friday after Pakistani naval vessels were detected close to Indian territorial waters. This happened hours after the stealth frigateINS Tarkash came in contact with Pakistani warships in international waters. INS Tarkash is one of three Indian warships that called on ports in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently in a show of cooperation and friendship.

"The INS Delhi, INS Deepak and INS Tarkash berthed at several ports in the UAE including Dubai, Bahrain and Muscat. Meetings were also held between senior officers of the Indian and UAE navies. While the Indian ships were in the UAE, Indian defence minister Manohar Parrikar also paid a visit to the Emirates and held talks with officials there. On the way back, while INS Delhi and INS Deepak headed straight for base, INS Tarkash took a slightly roundabout route. While sailing in international waters close to a fleet of Pakistani warships and was asked to back off," a source in the Navy said.

In naval parlance, this act by the INS Tarkash is called "fingering". The stealth frigate is an upgraded version of the Talwar class of ships and was commissioned in the Navy in 2012. Built in Russia, the INS Tarkash has state-of-the-art sensors and communications equipment and is BrahMos missile capable. Any country is bound to get jittery if it detects such a lethal platform close to its territorial waters. For the Navy, this is an opportunity to check on the ship's stealth and other capabilities.

"This is sort of a cat and mouse game. The Pakistani warships may have followed INS Tarkash as she headed back towards Mumbai. The Pakistani ships were picked up as they approached Indian territorial waters and the two warships set off from Mumbai to herd them off, should they get too close. All countries engage in such prowling close to the territorial waters of neighbours. We keep on getting similar contacts from Chinese warships in the Bay of Bengal," the source added.

Pakistan is certainly aware that the INS Tarkash was part of the three-ship team that visited the UAE. Good ties — both military and otherwise — with the UAE are sought after by India as well as Pakistan. While Pakistan had enjoyed good relations with the Emirates in the past, India's ties with the UAE were strengthened after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit in 2015.

We cannot conquer Kashmir through war

ISLAMABAD: Former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar on Sunday said Pakistan cannot "conquer Kashmir through war" and progress on the issue can only me made in an environment of mutual trust with India.

"I believe that Pakistan cannot conquer Kashmir through war and if we cannot do that, the option we are left with is dialogue, and dialogue can only proceed with a partner with which we have normal relations and a certain level of mutual trust," Khar said in an interview with Geo News.

She claimed that the PPP government, despite being a coalition government, tried its best to normalise ties with India through relaxation of visa rules and by normalising trade ties for the purpose, adding that the Nawaz administration can do much more as it enjoys majority.

"The issues between the two countries cannot be resolved in a hostile environment."
Khar, who remained Pakistan's foreign minister from 2011 to 2013, maintained that the Kashmir issue can be resolved "if we continue to talk on the issue, then we will reach somewhere".

Answering a question regarding the military's influence on Pakistan's foreign policy, she said that it is a diplomat's job to carry forward the military's perspective on issues where the military is a relevant stake holder.
Khar stated some people believe that the issue can only be resolved "if there is a BJP government in India and a military government in Pakistan".

She observed that it is a fact that the military ruler Musharraf gave India adequate relaxation on the Kashmir issue during his tenure.

'US tilt towards India driven by economy'
When asked about the recent downturn in Pak-US ties and the US' tilt towards India, the former foreign minister said the US tilt towards India is driven by economy, market and because of a wish to contain the rising power of China.
"Now let us ask ourselves, is US moving towards India because India is a nuclear state, or because it is a military power, no, it is people power and their democratic traditions, if we want to compete, lets compete on these grounds," said Khar.

The former foreign minister also termed Pakistan's entry into Afghan Jihad a 'mistake' and maintained that Pakistan's dependence on US is more in "our minds than on the ground".

She termed it as Zia's mistake for helping the US in the 80s, and added Musharraf had no option when it came to helping the US in 2001.

'Foreign office or political office'
Criticising the approach and the performance of ministry of foreign affairs, she asked if the foreign office has turned into a political office.

"The foreign office is busy nowadays in apprising the nation about some country's leader sending flowers to the prime minister or inquiring about his health," said Khar.

Khar maintained that Pakistan's current foreign policy is "reactive and not active" as Pakistan is not taking its own line or direction but is only reacting on the circumstances arising in the region or world at large.
"In 60 years, we have taught our children that our national identity is to hate someone, and we are doing it with those who are physically the nearest. Hostile with India and now hostile with Afghanistan," said the former foreign minister.

Summing up her answer, she maintained that the basic objective of Pakistan's foreign policy should be to serve the people of the country and not the pursuit of power.

Seems like a little sanity is returning to the minds of Paki leaders...their dream of breaking up Kashmir from India by using Islamic terrorists is becoming a nightmare and , now, they are slowly realizing that terrorism can not be a good foreign policy. Also, the SUPPA -power have stopped backing Pakis and started to tightening screws on it so sooner or later ,Pakis have to give up the old terrorism sponsoring policy.
Their masters sitting in London are also in bad place now as ..."London bridge is falling down...falling down falling down.."

Film Producers Ban Pak Artistes & Technicians Till Peace Restores
The Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association passed a resolution in its AGM on Thursday evening banning Pakistani actors, technicians and singers from working in India. The decision comes on a day when the Indian army announced the news of having carried out surgical strikes along the Line Of Control, as a mighty response to the recent attacks in Uri.

We’ve passed this decision in the AGM today on the demand of all the producers. Henceforth, till the situation is ok between the Pakistani and Indian governments, we will not hire any Pakistani artist, technician or singer. If there’s any ongoing project from which they cannot be removed now, on which everything has been done, they can come for that. We will maintain this till the relations between Pakistan and India are ok. The AGM at IMPPA House in Mumbai was attended by more than 200 film producers. TP Aggarwal, President of Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA)
Till the situation is normal between two governments as if it was ever normal. Liars.

The IMPPA has however exempted projects that currently involve Pakistani artistes and are ongoing. However it maintains that till peace is restored between India and Pakistan, Indian film producers will refrain from hiring Pakistani talent.

IMPPA in its AGM paid homage to the martyrs who were killed in URI. It therefore felt its responsibility towards the nation and passed a resolution banning Pakistani actors & technicians in India till normalcy returns. For IMPPA nation comes first.Ashoke Pandit, Vice President of Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA)
Hypocrisy and nothing else.

Pakistan's Intelligence agency above the Government of Pakistan (Government knows nothing about Pathankot attack probe)

AMIR WASIM — UPDATED OCT 05, 2016 08:02AM

ISLAMABAD: The government on Tuesday admitted on the floor of the Senate that it was still in dark about the alleged involvement of Pakistanis in the attack on the Pathankot airbase in India.

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, who was responding to questions on behalf of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, found himself in hot waters when he first failed to give satisfactory replies to the questions put by the members on the issue and later admitted that the government had no information at all since the “sensitive issue was being dealt by the intelligence agencies and secrecy was also involved in it”.

The minister’s remarks invited the wrath of Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani, who asked the minister whether the intelligence agencies were “above the federal government”.

“Do you know what you are saying? Can there be anything secret even for the federal government? You have left me speechless
,” Mr Rabbani said.

The nervous minister said the agencies were not above the government, but so far the government had not received any report from the intelligence agencies on the matter.

Sensing that the minister was in trouble, Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq took the floor and said it was the government’s responsibility to decide what it could share with the public and what should be treated as classified information.

Mr Haq alleged that India was in the habit of levelling false allegations against Pakistan whenever some militant attack took place in the country. He, however, also did not categorically state if the government had received any report about the attack.

Farhatullah Babar, who had actually asked the question, regretted that several months had passed since India had provided some evidence about the involvement of Pakistanis in the attack and yet the government was clueless.

The Senate chairman turned down Mr Babar’s request to defer the question till the time the interior minister himself came to the house to respond to the query.

"cannot conquer Kashmir through war"....so left with only track-thoo dialogue to 'conquer' Kashmir....
the dream of 'conquering' Kashmir remains. there wont be any point of truce reached when one wants to 'conquer' something & the other wont yield to it. sheikhchilli's dream, as always.

7 Pakistani Rangers killed in BSF ‘offensive’ at International Border, Pakistan denies claim
A BSF jawan was injured in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan.

___________________________________________________________________________________
Seven Pakistani Rangers were killed and three others injured on Friday as BSF retaliated to mortar shelling and small arms fire from across the International Border at various places in Kathua, Samba and Jammu districts. “There is confirmed information of the killing of seven Pak Rangers and serious injury to three others,” a BSF spokesperson said. Quoting the official press release issued by the BSF, the spokesperson added: “One of its brave constable Gurnam Singh of Bhaleshar of Magowali village in R S Pura tehsil got seriously injured when Pakistan targeted a BSF post at Bobiya in Hiranagar sector. He was mainly instrumental in repulsing the forced infiltration in the area on the intervening night of October 19-20.”

Another BSF spokesperson Shubhendu Bhardwaj in Delhi, however, said that “in a befitting reply to a sniper attack by Pakistan Army in Hiranagar sector at 9.35 am, the BSF launched an aggressive offensive, gunning down a militant and seven Pakistani rangers” during intermittent firing of small arms.

Meanwhile, Pakistan denied there was any loss of life on its side in the cross-border firing. Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed that the Indian Army resorted to unprovoked firing in Shakargarh sector today and that they retaliated the fire. “Indian claim of hitting or killing any Pakistani soldier/Ranger at anytime today at LOC/International Border is absolutely false,” said ISPR DG, General Asim Bajwa.

Pakistan also lodged a strong protest before the Director General of SA & SAARC, claiming that Indian forces have been resorting to ceasefire violation along the Line of Control. The India Deputy High Commissioner was summoned on Friday evening by the Director General.

BSF kill 7 Pakistani Rangers in retaliatory fire in Kathua: Here’s how Twitterati reacted

Home Minister Rajnath Singh tonight reviewed the situation along the Indo-Pak border in Jammu and Kashmir where BSF shot dead seven Pakistan Rangers and a terrorist while retaliating to a ceasefire violation. On receiving the news, the Home Minister, who was in Mumbai, called up Director General, BSF, K K Sharma and took stock of the situation along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, officials said.

Senior Home Ministry officials are also in regular touch with BSF officials and monitoring the situation along the border, they said. The Home Minister earlier had said that BSF should not fire the first shot towards Pakistan but if fired upon by Pakistani forces, BSF should not count the bullets and retaliate forcefully.

On the intervening night of October 19-20, the BSF foiled an infiltration bid in Hiransagar and killed a militant. On Friday morning, the Rangers targeted a BSF post in the same area, critically injuring a jawan. The injured jawan was admitted in the hospital and his condition was stated to be serious.

Pakistani Rangers first resorted to mortar shelling and small arms fire at around 9.35 am in Bobiyan and it soon spread to Bobiyan Forward and Karol Mathurian in Hiranagar sector. With the Indian side retaliating the fire, the Pakistani guns fells silent after nearly a 40-minute long fire fight. There was a ceasefire for nearly two hours before the Pakistani Rangers again resumed firing on Indian side around 12.15 noon, sources said.

Since 5 pm, there has been no firing from Pakistan side in Hiranagar sector, the spokesperson said, adding that Rangers also resorted to small arms fire in Samba and Pargwal sector of Jammu district during the day. It was also retaliated by the BSF. Meanwhile, Pakistani troops resorted to firing from small arms and automatics along the Line of Control in Manjakote area of Rajouri district around 12.45 pm. However, sources said, there were no casualties on the Indian side, till reports last came in.

Ever since India carried out surgical strikes across the Line of Control causing sufficient damage to terrorists and those shielding them last month, Pakistan has been resorting to mortar shelling and small arms fire at one or the other place along the borders in Jammu region. It continued lobbing mortar shells, besides resorting to automatics and small arms fire along the LoC in Rajouri district’s Manjakote area of Bhimber Gali sector throughout Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, alert army troops foiled an infiltration by heavily armed terrorists from across the LoC in Sawjian sector of Poonch on Friday morning. Defence Ministry spokesperson Lt Colonel Manish Mehta said that troops noticed two-three terrorists in a densely forested area trying to cross over to the Indian side in Gali Maidan area. On being challenged by Indian troops, the infiltrating terrorists opened fire before escaping into Pakistan.

Meanwhile, sources said that during the encounter, an Army jawan got injured. He has been identified as Launce Naik Vinod Kumar. The infiltration attempt was the second such incident in the last 24 hours as nearly half a dozen terrorists attempted to enter the Indian territory in the wee hours of Thursda. They attacked a BSF naka near the international border at Bobiyan in Hiranagar sector of Kathua district. The infiltration attempt was foiled as terrorists fled back to Pakistan side after BSF personnel retaliated, killing one of them, sources said. The fleeing terrorists were seen carrying a body when area was illuminated with the help of tracer bomb.

Hafiz Saeed to Pakistan govt: Don't forge friendship with India
PTI | Dec 27, 2016, 06.15 PM IST

LAHORE: Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief and the 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed has asked the Pakistan government to refrain from forging friendship with India claiming that its forces are committing atrocities in Kashmir.

He also alleged that the BJP government is trying to change the demographic status in Kashmir.

"We are standing with Kashmiris and completely support freedom movement of Kashmir," he said and criticised the Indian Army for committing atrocities in Kashmir.

He has urged the Pakistani government to solve problems of Kashmiris.

"The Pakistani government should not look towards India's friendship. Blood is being shed in Kashmir. Therefore, it is Pakistani government's responsibility to solve their problems," he said.

Ideally, the only relations with Pakistan should be of the they type that allow Sikh and Hindu pilgrims to visit the holy sites in the land now gone to hell. Unfortunately, that means letting in some of the vermin to visit "holy sites" of their own.

I have always wondered if zero relations are indeed possible and looked for examples from history.

Even during the coldest depths of cold war, there were plenty of Soviet scientists, researchers, performers and athletes working in "The West".

The Soviets at the height of Afghan war were busy funding and setting up Pak steel Mills in Karachi.

The Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport was actually constructed by a West German company!!

I wonder what is it that prevent countries from breaking off contacts completely.

26/11 Mumbai Attack Was Trans-Border Terror, Says Former Pak NSA Durrani

10 Pakistani terrorists launched coordinated attacks across Mumbai in 2008 killing 166 people.
_______________________________________________________________________________

NEW DELHI: Former National Security Advisor of Pakistan Mahmud Ali Durrani said the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack was carried out by a Pakistan-based terror group and it was a classic case of trans-border terrorist activity.

Speaking at the 19th Asian Security Conference in Delhi organised by the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses, Mr Durrani said, ''The terror attack in Mumbai, carried out by a terrorist group based in Pakistan on 26 November 2008, is a classic trans-border terrorist event. I hate to admit this, but it is true. Unfortunately, mistrust overruled common sense".

The mastermind of the attack, Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed, has "no utility for Pakistan and strong action must be taken" against him, Mr Durrani added.

Hafiz Saeed was recently put under house arrest and booked under Pakistan's Anti-Terrorism Act, which severely restricts his movement and funds. It was seen as a reaction by many to recent pressure by the new Trump Administration. Pakistan has reacted to the news saying it was rubbish. Mr Durrani was sacked earlier after he said Kasab was a Pakistani national.

Mr Durrani, who was the NSA in Pakistan when 10 Pakistani terrorists launched coordinated attacks across Mumbai in 2008 killing 166 people, maintained that ''India and Pak are more focused on blaming each other rather than extending cooperation in fighting terrorism. For example, lately, violence across the Line of Control in Kashmir has escalated''.

Also present at the conference were the current NSA of Afghanistan and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Mohammad Hanif Atmar, the National Security Advisor of Afghanistan, said, "We share the region with Pakistan, which has the highest concentration of terrorists anywhere".
