firstly they said $5 millon for one ship..and they hike it to $20 million per ship...
shit Russians
I think you forgot to add 2 zeroes, $500 million and $2000 million.
Although Project-17 Class Frigates cost around $650 million.
Also the program cost of Project-17A class of $10 Billion include the modernization of shipyards, acquiring machinery, designing and lot other things including weapons.

Thats because P 17 Shivalik class has three ships with the third being commissioned now. Only after that will they lay the keel for the 17A's. All three 17's rolled out within 3 years of each other, which is not bad.

If IN can roll out 1 destroyer, 1 frigate and 3 corvettes every year, it is more than sufficient for the surface fleet, not considering AC's.

the variant of 'Horizon class frigate' i thought I had made it clear...

and I thought it might be some Export variant of horizon class....

1. oto 127 mm , not the british 114 mm
2. the flat VLS deck
3. EMPAR Phased Array Radar, not the SAMPSON radar

:dude:

Even if you went wrong with costs. P-17 and P-17A have nothing to do with Russia. These are indigenous designs with western engines, electronics and radars.

They were speaking about talwar class imported from russia.
The actual cost of 3 frigates was 1.6 billion $ and later they asked 100 million $.
So total cost of 3 advanced talwar class (not the 1st three) is 1.7 billion $

Somebody had kept his/ her pistol at MMS's head, at point blank.

Like he/ she wants to say that, if you ever try to get new frigates from other than the Russians.

That's it, your head gone.

Forget it. India is not going to get any frigates developed by someone else.
