Re: India Capable of Developing ICBM Beyond 10,000 Kilometre Range: DR

We will surpass UK GDP in a few yrs (2.04 us vs 2.3 UK in Trillion USD).
Add to that surya's coverage of whole europe incl. UK .... :lol:
ANd we will still have room to grow further. :rofl:

UK will be a dwarf against india. As soon as all or most of our people attain medium+ HDI and UK can't catcall us on poverty and toilets ... they will shut up and retreat to being the shopkeepers that they are. should happen by 2040.
Small correction : UK gdp is about 3 trillion USD right now.

Really I checked wiki ... the estimates vary from 2.26 (UN) to 2.8 (IMF) but since I quoted IMF estimate of india from memory , we should take IMF estimate of UK too. so what do you think 2019?

Yup 2018/19 with a minimum of avg 8% growth over five years.

GDP has no direct relationship with ICBMs.

I do not think there is sanction for an ICBM yet. So building of ICBM is a theoretical point.

Relax guys. The DRDO would not have released this info without GOI's tacit backing.

I don't think sanction details of research projects are available to general public. sanction details of TD and production are available.

from whatever I have known of DRDO, the research work may have been completed including testing of individual critical assemblies. I don't think testing of complete missile will ever be done in recent future.

Ofcourse it doesn't.
We are just saying that it would be a milestone in our development.
Do you know we are just 20/30 billion$ behind Russia and Brazil in Forex Reserves. :D

Technically Agni-5 can exceed 5500km so can be called an ICBM. However a lot of infrastructure is needed for guiding ICBMs. For example a system similar to GPS will be needed or worldwide ground stations will be needed for course correction. Inertial navigation is not good enough for ICBM (which have minimum 1% error, so 100km for 10000km range).

India's own GPS system is limited to 1500 km from the border and is yet to become fully operational.

Wrong, ICBM was not relying on GPS for navigation.

American got their missile accuracy around 150m already in 1970-1980s;
Russian's reached 300m in the same period;
Even Chinese can reach that level without the help of GPS today.

GPS is never used with ICBM's. They have INS based on Ring laser Gyros and MEMS inertial gyros.

we should go for 10k range. Now days defination of enemy is changing fast. So, its better to be prepared when we have time. 10k BM with MIRVs is smoking good.
