Water Buffalo from KNP.
There are two populations of wild buffaloes in India- Assam and Bastar/Central India. The latter was believed to be genetically purer and ranged across Chhatisgarh, Telangana and upto Amravati in Maharashtra.

Years of Naxal terrorism in the region have probably devastated their numbers and it was believed that the population had probably gone extinct. Then finally a rare cheer.

Endangered wild buffalo herds spotted in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh forest department has a reason to cheer as it has traced two herds of the endangered wild buffalo at a national park in the state raising hopes to increase its population.

"With the inputs from local villagers, we were tracking wild buffaloes for the past several months in Indravati (national park in south Bastar) but we were not getting exact evidence of their presence. Due to LWE (left wing extremism) activities in the region, it was tough to search thoroughly in the deep forests," chief conservator of forest (CCF) Anup Kumar Shrivastava told PTI.

"But few weeks back our trackers spotted two herds of wild buffaloes numbering 10 to 12 animals each," he said.
Conservation programmes are also underway

Is that a Cheetah in the second pic? Where did that come from?
It was a popular hunting pet.
I think it's the best of the set, she even used an Asiatic cheetah. The location is Chandra Mahal of Jaipur Palace, a place that probably had seen a sight exactly like that few hundred years ago!

There is currently a population in Maharastra's Gadchiroli as well, they moved in from naxal infested Indravati Tiger Reserve...

Western media always gets best animal pics from India ...where as our filthy media always run around cow and beef $hit. :rofl:These are yesterday and today pics from dailymail.

The Indian rhinoceros looks like it is wearing a tutu, as it is photographed walking in front of a peacock

These pictures show a family of tigers enjoying a cuddle in the Rathambore Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan, northern India

'My favourite images is the one where the two cubs are cuddling with their mother on the forest track,' he added. 'It really shows the softer side of this so-called beast'

Consolation.

Video is good but she don't know Deer or any other animal don't know the difference between Garbage and 5 Star hotel served food. They simply eat anywhere, actually herbivores like to live near human settlements (Majority Indians don't harm animals) as easy availability of food, water and no threat from predators.

2.Our forested area increased from 19 to 21%.

At a time when leopards are being targeted for man-animal conflict, a study by a group of scholars and wildlife experts in Sanjay Gandhi National Park suggests that by preying on stray dogs, the spotted cats can in fact reduce the number of dog bite incidents, risk of rabies transmission to humans and costs associated with dog sterilization and management.

The Big Seven of India!

....................................................................................
One thing we must be proud of in India.
We have a really large population. Still we did not cause extinction of any of them.
Consider this with what the others did to the Dodo's, Tasmanian Devil, Passenger Pigeon, Black Rhino etc.
