i wont fight this head-on as youve claimed to have read the "arrticles" - but a naval craft is different from designing an aircraft ?
and india has much more naval experience than fighter-bomber design ?
so im confident this will be a different case than the rather long delay of LCa
Of course, failure in a different field does not equate to a failure in another. The construction of a carrier will take anywhere between 5 to 10 years. Considering we have started work now, we will take at least a decade to get it operational.
The construction of the latest USS Gerald R. Ford started in 2005 and will be operational in 2015. 10 years for a 100000 ton vessel.
HMS Queen Elizabeth started construction in 2009 and will see induction in 2016. 7 years for a 65000 ton vessel.
INS Vishaal. Our 65K ton carrier will start construction in a year or two, maybe more if they are talking of only the design stage right now. So, giving it a decade is rather normal. At best the carrier will be ready in the 2020-22 period which is actually a good thing considering it means we are going to get a carrier every 4 years starting with Gorky.
Gorky - 2012-13.
Vikrant - 2015, now pushed to 2017.
Vishaal - 2020-22.
