Hindustan Aeronautics Limited receives orders worth Rs 83,754 cr




NEW DELHI: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has received orders worth Rs 83,754 crore in financial year 2010-11 which includes orders for Hawk Advance Jet Trainer (AJT) and the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA).


Terming its order book position as "healthy", HAL in its annual report today said, "The order book position for new aircraft and helicopters is healthy with orders for Sukhoi-30 MKI, Hawk, Dornier, LCA, Intermediate Jet Trainer (IJT), Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) and Chetak worth Rs 68,265 crore.


Major orders were received for Hawk worth Rs 9,500 crore and LCA worth Rs 5,989 crore during the year, the report said.


HAL also booked export orders worth Rs 352 crore during 2010-11, which include orders for supply of avionics for Su-30 MKI to Rosoboronexport, Russia, supply of spares, services and technical assistance to Malaysia towards maintenance of helicopters and aircraft.


"The Company has been showcasing its products and capabilities by participating in leading international airshows such as Farnborough AIr Show, Africa Aerospace and Defence 2010, Aero India 2011, Indo Defence Expo Forum 2010, Jakarta, Indonesia and IISAREX2011," the report said.


On outsourcing, the report said, "During the year, purchases to the tune of Rs 220 crore were made from 358 small scale units."


An expenditure of Rs 986.96 crore was incurred on various Research and Development projects as compared to Rs 832.12 crore in the previous year, it said.
