common BE....stop trashing India because they didnt choose some other place for asylum.....totally agree with u that there are many other better option but they may not be as educated to understand or may be foreign land gives em goosebumps and since India is kind of like paki in culture et all and hindu majority they might feel like home....

India 'surprised' by influx of Pakistani Hindus

NEW DELHI: India has been taken by surprise by the recent development of a large number of Pakistani Hindus declaring their wish to stay on its soil after crossing over and will look into the issue.

Government sources said today that Hindus from Pakistan who are visiting India for pilgrimage were given visas like any other Pakistani nationals, and the developments that followed were somewhat unexpected.

"This comes unexpectedly that such a large number say they do not want to return," the sources said.

"In terms of the people turning up, there has been an element of surprise for all of us. Last year too we had visitors, but there was no influx, apart from one particular case".

They said the families, who had communicated their desire to stay through the media, were yet to approach the Indian government officially, and once they do, the issue and its implications would be looked into.

Commenting on India's overall refugee policy, the sources said by and large India does not send back people fleeing persecution but deals on a case by case basis.

"At the same time, we try not to become a magnate," said sources, pointing out that India is currently also dealing with the issue of Rohingyas from Myanmar, a dispute it is not party to.

A large number of Pakistani Hindu families have crossed over into India in recent days, and Pakistani Interior Minister had alleged that he suspected a "conspiracy" in the giving of visas to a large number of people.

they will make their own livelyhood.

Delhi is full of afghan sikhs/hindus who have made their lives better.

Delhi is full of Kashmiri pandits who have done the same.

India, for centuries, have absorbed many cultures and people......few thousand more will not hurt india......

.....but 40 lakh illegal BDs in assam are hurting india!

Are these Hindu migrants harming the interests of their Hindu brethren in Pakistan in any way? My guess is that it will now become extremely difficult for Hindus and Sikhs in Pakistan to get Pakistani Passport and they will have to gain courage to cross the dangerous Indo-Pak border with their family, women and kids illegally.

I read somewhere that in year 2011, only 10 families migrated to India. This means that the consulate sat on rest of all applications for immigration/asylum seekers. This year, it appears that something has changed and they gave VISA to 60+ families but that was only 30 days. This means that the Govt has an option of deporting them back if they overstay, if it choose to do so!

Additionally, accommodating Hindus from Pakistan will also raise the demand of accepting the asylum requests of Rohingya Muslims. Wait and watch.

If they really care, why didn't they invite them to their country and give them citizenship? They don't want the problem inside their border. They are happy to throw some cheap money so that some nearby third world country entertain them.

Unfortunately, the fact that suffers being Muslims, only polarizes the opinions for and against them making it hard to find sane and humane solution.

I also believe that the pakistani Hindus should go to Canada or USA where they can be protected from hate and bigotry of islam....India will eventually fall under its own secular weight as islamic people get bolder day by day because of secular/corrupt con-gress' policies, anti-Hindu and anti-national activities!

Or Sweden where we have many paki islamic asylum seekers however the partisan movement in Sweden against Islam will make sure that islamic people do not grow furher, they will welcome non-islamic refugees and protect them -- somebody should help these poor Hindus and guide them to better places than India, which will be the hotbed of islamic jihad in he future, India is not a long-term option as Indian Hindus will be forced to Canada or US themselves as things are going on these days!

P.S: islam is incompatible with any other religion --- when their numbers grow, indigenous religions, sham secularism or BS communism - all fall prey to islam's sword! Eventually, after the predicted pan-islamic war -- world will be divided into islamic (if islam is allowed to exist) and non-islamic!! We can imagine what a shithole will be that Dar-ul-Islam!
