I guess the introduction of RSS or inherently unstable design has evened the playing field. An RSS AC does not want to fly. It is maintained at what might be called an unstable equilibrium: the aircraft is at the very precipice of stability, which allows for maximum maneuverability at least expenditure of energy.

and then you add the FBW systems to keep it at the stable equilibrium. I guess now an aircraft pilot can understand his "introverted" bro in the helicopter
