MO: al-Qassam Brigades, Israeli aircraft shot down and 'a F16

Gaza, November 16 - (Adnkronos / Aki) - The Israeli military aircraft al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, would claim to have shot down a fighter F16. I refer the militants of the same brigade, with a statement and say that 'being an attempt to recover the remains of the plane, made difficult by shots fired by the Israeli military.

M.O.: Brigate al-Qassam, velivolo israeliano abbattutto e' un F16 - Adnkronos Esteri

If the above news is true

it's time to deploy the Troops and Tanks for some ground Operations

What is funny is how rockets get into the hands of Palestinians in Gaza when Israel has total control of the area and it's borders?
Is there a credible non-Israeli estimate of how many rockets have actually been fired into Israel from Gaza?

Israeli Peace Activist: Ahmed Jabari, Assassinated Hamas Leader, Received Draft Of Gaza Truce Agreement Shortly Before Death
Posted: 11/16/2012 2:30 am EST Updated: 11/16/2012 2:35 am EST

An Israeli peace activist has come forward with a blockbuster claim about the assassination of Hamas leader Ahmed Jabari that, if true, would represent a major twist in the recent escalation of conflicts between Israeli and Palestinian forces.

Gershon Baskin, who has reportedly mediated between Israel and Hamas in the past, told Haaretz on Thursday that Jabari, at the time of his death, had just received a draft of a "permanent truce agreement with Israel."

Per Haaretz:

Hours before Hamas strongman Ahmed Jabari was assassinated, he received the draft of a permanent truce agreement with Israel, which included mechanisms for maintaining the cease-fire in the case of a flare-up between Israel and the factions in the Gaza Strip. This, according to Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin, who helped mediate between Israel and Hamas in the deal to release Gilad Shalit and has since then maintained a relationship with Hamas leaders.
Baskin told Haaretz on Thursday that senior officials in Israel knew about his contacts with Hamas and Egyptian intelligence aimed at formulating the permanent truce, but nevertheless approved the assassination.

"I think that they have made a strategic mistake," Baskin said, an error "which will cost the lives of quite a number of innocent people on both sides."
Jabari was killed in a surgical airstrike on Wednesday as part of a larger Israeli offensive in Gaza. "This is an operation against terror targets of different organisations in Gaza," an Israeli spokeswoman said at the time.

Called Operation "Pillar of Defence," the offensive dashed hopes of progress toward a truce between Israel and Hamas that might have ended months of roiling tensions and violence in the region.

Since Wednesday, conflicts has escalated. Palestinian militants reportedly "barraged Israel with nearly 150 rockets on Thursday," and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated plans for "significant widening" of military strikes.

Said Netanyahu:

No government would tolerate a situation where nearly a fifth of its people live under a constant barrage of rockets and missile fire, and Israel will not tolerate this situation. This is why my government has instructed the Israeli Defense Forces to conduct surgical strikes against the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza. And this is why Israel will continue to take whatever action is necessary to defend our people.

This account, if true, supports my hypothesis that the Israeli government has a vested interest in destroying potential peace deals because the longer this conflict continues the more Palestinian land the Israeli government can usurp under the guise of settlements.

Depends on what's credible, Iranians are reporting too mocking at the failure of irondome. Day before they claimed 130 odd were fired of which 30 were intercepted. IDF IIRC that day had confirmed over 100 rockets had hit them.

Haven't really checked the last two days though.

The IDF/Israeli government obviously has a vested interest in exaggerating the threat posed to Israel by Hamas in order to justify their military operations, continued lack of interest in a peace agreement while they continue to usurp Palestinian land through settlements, and continued US public and government financial and diplomatic support.

Israeli soldiers watch as an Iron Dome launcher fires an interceptor rocket near the southern city of Beersheba November 15, 2012. Hamas fired dozens of rockets into southern Israel on Thursday, killing three people, and Israel launched numerous air strikes across the Gaza Strip, threatening a wider offensive to halt repeated Palestinian salvoes.

An Israeli soldier throws a blood-stained table out of a building damaged by a rocket, fired from Gaza, in the southern city of Kiryat Malachi November 15, 2012.

An Israeli civilian lies flat on the ground near police officers and a medic taking cover as a siren sounds warning of incoming rockets at the scene where a rocket, fired from Gaza, landed in the southern city of Kiryat Malachi November 15, 2012.

A baby is seen at a broken window after a rocket fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza hit a house in the southern town of Netivot November 12, 2012.

Every party has a vested interest. Did you see SaheevJino's post where he showed alleged Palestinian victim on an Israeli airstrike feigning he was hit.
BTW Iranians were bragging about how many rockets were fired into Israel and how irondome had failed.

In a conflict, each side can only respond/defend with the weapons and military capability it has, and not the weapons and military capability the developed world would like to see in order to have a clean consciousness about a 'sanitized conflict'.

A suicide bombing targeting a school bus, cafe etc. with the specific intent of killing civilians would be classified as terrorism (though one would have to ask whether that description should then also apply to the WWII bombing runs on cities by both the Germans and the Allies), but since the Palestinians have no military means other than crude unguided rockets to attack Israel and attempt to defend themselves with, are those rocket attacks terrorism or merely a futile and desperate attempt at self defence in the face of overwhelming military odds?

Of the 500 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip toward Israel since Operation Pillar of Defense was launched on Wednesday, 26 have landed in built-up areas, the IDF stated on Friday.

The Iron Dome rocket defense system has intercepted nearly 150 of the rockets.

According to the article, MI and the IAI observed for a long period each Fajr that was smuggled to the strip and where it was hidden. And last night, F-16s from 3 squadrons from Ramat David took off, gathered over the Mediterranean and waited for order to strike and to destroy all the Fajr at the same time before any of them is fired or moved.
