Ever since 26/11 terror attack have happened Mumbai police still do not have dedicated helicopter to transport police commandos during terror attack. In 2011 Maharashtra govt decided to transfer old Dauphin helicopter to Force one commandos and Quick response team. But state home department rejected it calling it is old one and requested new helicopter for the police force. Since then there is no head way in the purchase of new helicopter to Mumbai police.

Now HAL light utility helicopter is ready the Maharashtra govt can purchase these helicopter for the Mumbai police force. HAL light utility helicopter is cost effective and can serve Mumbai police well. HAL light utility helicopter has range of 350 km, service climbing height is about 21,300 ft and it has two 2 pilots and can carry 6 passengers.

Instead of buying foreign helicopters the Maharashtra govt can buy HAL light utility helicopter for Mumbai police. Training should be given to Force one and Quick response team commandos like slithering down on roof top of building in case terrorist lay siege over the buliding.

One HAL light utility helicopter should given to Mumbai traffic police to regulate traffic and help the people.

Rs 72-cr Airbus helicopter for Maharashtra CM, governor arrives
MUMBAI Updated: Oct 03, 2019

The new chief minister, who will be elected following the Assembly polls later this month, will have a brand new Airbus H145 helicopter at his disposal. The helicopter, procured a few weeks ago for Rs 72 crore, is being assembled while the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) deals with administrative clearances.

“We have received the delivery of the Airbus H145 a few days ago. Our team of three pilots led by Captain Sanjay Karve had gone through the 50-day training at a Munich training centre recently. Before the helicopter is put in use for VVIPs, it needs to go through the mandatory security flying of 75 hours. It will be completed in the next three weeks. The helicopter will be used for winching, anti-Maoist operations and disaster management, besides transporting VVIPs. It can be converted into an air ambulance if need be,” said an official from the aviation wing of the state government.

Why didn't they order Dhruv instead?
1. Trust issue with the product.

2. They could have gone for Ka 226 T as it is meant for air ambulance disaster management as well as transport. But then again Showoff kaisein karte ?

Also I think may be heli is heavily armoured too for protection not sure abt it.

Does anyone know what will happen to Dhruv? Does it also fall under 'Light Utility Helicopter' category? And we are also buying Ka 226. Will all these 3 helicopters co-exist or are we going to scrap Dhruv? vidmate apk
Dhruv isn't light utility heli and has confirmed orders.

Our LUH and Kamov 226 T falls under light category. Kamov is actually a better design with Twin rotor and twin engine better range , a good decision to buy them. Both complement each other and production rate price etc.

And yes all 3 will coexist since Dhriv has nothing do with LUH. Though HAL LUH and Ka 226 T might compete against each other based on feedback from user
