We all know what's gong to happen to these poor fellows.

They will be executed, and probably their severed heads will be displayed.

I am not feeling good about it.

Why? I have no problem with these morons getting their deserts. The good news is in the last few days TTP has struck in karachi and pakjab. Islamabad is not too far.

Last few days has seen flurry of activities on the Taliban front. They seem to be stepping up the gear.

Pakistan has to choose sides. Does it want strategic depth in Afghanistan or a prosperous Pakistan?. It cannot have both. If they want strategic depth in Afghanistan, there will be more kidnapping and killings of people, soldiers and politicians plus deteriorating economy. If they choose to have a prosperous Pakistan they should get rid of all kinds of Taliban - good and bad. They can no longer run with hares and hunt with hounds. Musharraf and Kayani did it and one can see the results in Pakistan.

activities coming closer to India's borders?

Hmm that is interesting. TTP should not cross Sindh.

The Taliban are known sneakers, backstabbers, and suicide attackers. They're like they'd invite you for tea, and then you go, have tea, and when you are leaving, they'd shoot you in the back. I am not sure Taliban has the guts to face any military head on, including the Pakistani military. I am pretty sure those soldiers were off duty as well.

These are soldiers who have the habit of surrendering to enemies without fighting. How many times did TTP caught and beheaded these worthy soldiers?. Most cowardly soldiers on earth. And these guys fantasise about defeating India and occupying Afghanistan.

Instances of glorious pakistani soldiers getting captured by Taliban

@pmaitra, I don't think all the captured soldiers were off-duty as you can see many instances the pakistani soldiers got captured by Taliban.

Compare above to Indian soldiers. How many CRPF, Police or Indian Army soldiers got caught by militants be it Jihadi terrorists or Naxals. They fight dying rather than surrendering. That's simply not our culture.

@Daredevil, yes, in many instances, on-duty soldiers and/or paramilitaries gave up without a fight, perhaps hoping for dear life?

At least in case of Pakistan, I feel that their soldiers surrender due to ill equipped weapons or no training in combat or a more ideological unwillingness to kill more pious taliban.

PA soldiers are not mentally tuned to fight against Jihadies. How can they? One brother is in the Army and another is Jehadi ! The soldiers themselves have been brought up in a culture where Jehad has been made a cult. Soldiers are taught tenets of Jihad against Kafir India. That is a strange situation PA generals are faced with while employing their troops against the Jehadies. There is a real fear of the soldiers turning their guns on their officers and officers turning the guns on their generals due to this sympathy for Jehdies amongst troops and officers.

It is this lack of faith in the cause that makes Pakistani soldiers surrender rather than fight and die.
God save them.

An old adage says that if you dig a hole for someone else, chances are you will end up in that hole.

Or perhaps too much faith on their Talibunny Buddies? They have this belief and frequent claims that Muslims won't kill Muslims, while in reality most of the Muslims killed in recent times were killed by their fellow Muslims.
