It is sad to see army din't learn any lesson from t-90 saga. Why no one is asking explanation from army for our t90 failures in recent russian competition . Why they r asking drdo to fix AC in t90.
T-90? Even when they didn't learn from T-72 how we can expect to learn this time too? This is not they don't learn , actually many will say that they do intentionally. In 80s many from DRDO proposed a
heavily upgraded Vijayant (further upgrade of Mk-2) could do same what T -72 could do , so they requested to go with indigenous product but instead T-72 deal was signed. MBT-80 project was on Leo2A4 a western design, but T-72s were procured which didn't help in R&D. Spates of Centurions were sold at a fravtion of original price so that those can never be used. Procurement of T-72 was termed qs a grqve mistake but did it stop from procurement? And in just early 90s (just sime years after T-72 starts to be imported in India )Army felt T-72s need modernaization so they wanted to overhaul in Yugoslavia (that didn't happen as of civil war there). Test of T-72S and T-80 in India was miserably failed. And ultimately T-90 procured without summer trials. And within a very short time we need full modernization of T-90s. Russia stabbed us in the back, took money but didn't give us tech and rather hold intellectual property rights and is harrassing. We have to use very same Indian tech to overhaul them. This started from 70s. Unless, MoD now takes firm step , no one can save us.

Theoretically Armata isn't only UCP. Turkish too has this. But neither they will respond nor we will buy ( but that's better than Russian counterpart )
First, I don't think Turkish ones are better than Russian. Turkey is not good in defence manufacturing.

Next, I don't think there is enough budget to buy everything now. Many things are left pending. It is better to make as much indigenous technology as possible with minimal manufacturing to develop technology base while only buying indian items available and needed. As of now, we are wasting a significant amount of forex by buying partly indigenous items.

Yes sir, they were procured without summer trials
Russian tanks r built for their icy climate. Definitely wil fail in thar summer Trail. But army is giving billions to Russians to increase t90 numbers . Last year alone indian army placed 2 billion USD worth order for t90

Ukraine also has it's own UCP program. T-Rex . I guess they may offer . However , as of mentioned (afaik, can't be sure) RFI the proposed platgorm must be operational. As ot 2017 only Armata is the only UFP.
So this RFI is clearly for Russians.
But again, India does not allow Single Vendor situation.
So at the end , there must be proposed on paper designs be allowed.
That time it may enter.

And who told India is looking for T-14 , Leclerc and Oplot ? Why some media are spreading such news?

In entire T-90 squad , only AM version is worth of procurement.

If we can make this with Kanchan Armour and licensed 2A48 gun ....it can be prrhaps better than Arjun Mk 2 even
they are not selling T90AM, they are selling T90SM. Its export version, that means, less armor, less ammo penetration etc etc. Idea is that enemies of Russia dont get to see what the real tank Russians will have in war, thus they will not get undue advantage with export versions.

The first prototype of Arjun Mk IIView attachment 21566
They could use ERAs for Top Protection too. Otherwise vulnerable to Top Attack ATGMs
As if T90s have top protection ???

Since the guided missile have become smart, you could with the tech almost pinpoint the area where you want the missile to hit in the tank.

Nag that this feature, it could hit at the point where it want.

Indian Army must induct arjun mk 2 tank in 1000 numbers. We should not import any russian tank now and we should develope arjun mk 3 tank around 55 tonne with auto loader with 3 man crew. I love arjun tank it is most advanced tank in the world and with better protection.
Modi will not import anything without ToT. Be assured. But, I don't see the need for urgency in tank acquisition. We need to wait till we get bharat pack. Why waste even 20% in forex? Till then, what we can do here indigenously, we will do only those in large quantities. Also, Indian budget is tight.

I hope from next year on wards Indian govt will increase defence budget to 60 billion dollars.
