What's wrong with it ?

In "urban" Delhi and other cities you can't fire guns but in rest of North India, firing guns during weddings is quite common.

The only problem is that unless the guns are fired at a near vertical angle - bullets shot from guns at shallow angles can kill people very far away. Assuming flat ground, a rifle bullet fired ("into the air") at a 45 degree angle will hit the ground about 7 seconds later several km away and can still retain enough velocity to kill. If there is a tall building or raised ground/small hillock in that direction then something gets hit sooner. So the man who fires the gun should have some knowledge that it can be dangerous to someone else.

Here is one example
1 killed in celebratory firing - Times Of India

It depends on the bullet. In case of Ak-47s it makes sense to not fire them in crowded areas, as far as I could make out in the Pakistani video, they were firing into an empty barren area.

In case of India, deaths usually occur because someone is drunk and fires his gun (not rifles) onto onlookers standing on the roofs.
