With severe recession, inflation and high unemployment rate, it would be easier to find people willing to do nasty jobs. In normal circumstances, they might not want to do it, but they will do it, not because they want to kill a bunch of people but because they need to feed their stomachs.

Very sad and completely unethical!

I thought the courts would throw out a case of entrapment. If an investigative agency lured a person into committing a terrorist act and then arrested him, it would be illegal and should not stand in court.

Paid informants also are a bit tricky. They tend to make up information if there isn't any just to keep the paychecks coming. I know innocent people being dubbed as terrorists modules in India even just because an informant wanted to make money or wanted to get back at them in a property dispute.

However, these cases of "fake terrorists" or planted Muslim extremists is just looking more and more fishy.

For example, how many of you remember South Park being threatened by a group called Revolution Muslim (and no other group) for showing an image of the Prophet Muhammed (albeit in good light)

And here is what Fox news had to say about the group which consists of about 5-6 people.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,341811,00.html
On any given day, log on to RevolutionMuslim.com and a host of startling images appear:

- The Statue of Liberty, with an ax blade cutting through her side;

- Video mocking the beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl, entitled "Daniel Pearl I am Happy Your Dead ";

- Video of a puppet show lampooning U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq;

Even more surprising is that RevolutionMuslim.com isn't being maintained in some remote safe house in Pakistan. Instead, Yousef al-Khattab, the Web site creator, runs it from his home in the New York City Borough of Queens.

...

Formerly known as Joseph Cohen, al-Khattab is an American-born Jew who converted to Islam after attending an Orthodox Rabbinical school, which he later described as a "racist cult."

Abu Tallah Al-Amrikee, the "muslim" who threatened South Park using the above RevolutionMuslim.com website, is really named Zachary Adam Chesser!

Entrapment should be differentiated from instigation. The former is a valid way of getting a person red handed for arrest while the latter is illegal.
