Lack of ideological motivation and commitment to a greater cause may be a reason for armies breaking apart quickly. Many members of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army became martyrs, because they firmly believed in the cause they were fighting for. Ditto for the soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army, Wehrmacht, PLA (during the Chinese Civil War), Viet Cong, etc.

Agreed. The fiercest devotion to the cause is usually displayed by those who are ideologically brainwashed. The most potent ideology in medieval times was religion, and since then more and more, it has become nationalism. For most Indian armies, Hinduism was not a religion that motivated territorial expansion through religious teaching, though Islam certainly was one for their opponents.

Unfortunately, the Indian state has also failed to cultivate a strong, defiant nationalism, since Indian independence was not won through a long, bloody war unlike in China's case. The founders of the Indian state were peace-mongering fellows illiterate in the affairs of defence or foreign policy and hence Indian nationalism has taken far longer to mature unlike in China, Vietnam or other Asian countries.

In this regard, Pakistan actually may, in a theoretical sense, hold the upper hand, since Paki troops are brainwashed by both religion and nationalism.

Have you stood at the border or been shot by an enemy bullet? Didn't think so, so how about you stop acting like a troll and start acting mature?
All that I have stated is facts! I don't know how that's trolling. May be in your nazi world it's trolling...haha...

I know about the cultural notions, yet large numbers of Indian soldiers surrendered and were taken as PoW by the Chinese in 1962.
IA did not even have proper weapons to fight and were out numbered severely. With this what did you expect ? you wanted them to commit suicide ? And that would have been valorousness ? You are ret@rded just like how Hilter was.
In fact in spite of being so ill equipped and bad planning of the top leaders some of the regiments did so well! With a decent planning and decent weapons 1962 war most probably would have been quite different!

Also, if you look a bit further back in history.....traitors..........
All the people involved in those acts were people who were higher up in the hierarchy and not the soldiers. Also understand India was a too rich a country for the traitors to refuse the offers they were made in return for favours. We don't know how people (traitors) in other countries would have reacted to such fortunes if they were offered one.You agree that people anywhere can be made fierceful just by brainwashing through religion and nationalism. If this is possible then people anywhere could be made traitors if appropriate offers are made. Nothing specific to India just that India was stinking rich back then.

do you remember the famous interview given by the MARCOS during the 2008 Mumbai attacks? They claimed they had finished off all the terrorists, yet the NSG later found that wasn't true. Again an example of false bravado, just like Gen. Niazi above.
Total :bs: ! They did not claim that in the interview! Post the interview where they claim that! Let's say they did claim that....As per the protocol MARCOS are not suppose to give interviews to anyone! Also the interview was also given by not the head of the MARCOS but the commandos themselves. No way they would have dared to break that protocol unless that interview was scripted by our babus to show off that the govt did a great job in handling the situation. If the clearance had not come from the top level for that interview then those commandos would have been fired immediately for breaking the protocol. And no commandos are fired until now! We can safely conclude it was scripted by our babus!

Still 93,000 Paki POWs were taken by the IA in 1971 war. haha.... :rotfl: :rotfl:
Stop living in your Soviet lala land and get real...

Pakistanis are in AWE of Brahmins and Baniyas
Or rather we should say that they HATE Brahmis and Banias

They use a term " Brahmin - Bania " mentality as a ABUSE for describing the cunning Hindu

Pakis believe that ALL their LOSSES and DEFEATS starting
from Radcliffe line ; Gurdaspur ; Hari Singh's signature ;
1965 ; 1971 ; kargil ; their FAILURE to seize kashmir thru terrorism are because of the
CLEVER and CUNNING Brahmins and Baniyas

The BANIA is hated by the Pakis because the GREATEST BANIA was
the man who UNITED India and Hindus politically ie GANDHIJI

And the Brahmin in HATED because they believe it was the the MORAL and religious
convictions of Brahmins which ALLOWED HINDUISM to survive

BTW Two BRAHMINS were instrumental in SNATCHING Kashmir

Nehru and V P Menon the secretary and the PATEL's Right hand
