EX ISI Brig. kidnapped; driver killed

An ex ISI Brigadier was kidnapped on Thursday morning from the area of police station Sihala, a few kilo meters away from the capital city.According to a private TV channel, the retried army officer's car was intercepted near Sihala. On resistence the abductors killed the drive and took the officer with them. The story is developing.

ISLAMABAD: Former army brigadier Tahir Masood was kidnapped from Islamabad Expressway, while his driver was shot dead when he showed resistance, Express News reported Thursday.

According to police, Masood had left his residence in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) for work when four armed men intercepted his car and pulled him out.

When the driver and former army soldier, Ahmed Hassan, came for his defense, the gunmen killed him.

Police and officials reached the site to gather facts for investigation.

Unidentified persons kidnapped a retired brigadier of the Pakistan Army and killed his driver near the federal capital today.

The persons intercepted the brigadier's car at Sihala town on the outskirts of Islamabad and took him away to an unknown location after killing his driver, Geo News channel quoted its sources as saying.

The retired brigadier was serving in a senior position in an intelligence agency on a contract, the channel reported.

No group claimed responsibility for the abduction.
There was no official word on the incident

Unlikely, there are enough people who will do the job willingly in Pakistan including their army, just that their motivation has to be met. It isn't a coincidence that most of the Pakistani elites' kids land up in the US for higher education, job and more, and that happens across the board from politicians to bureaucracy to military to business class.

Has to be the TTP, I suspect.
