Ex-Goldman Sachs Analyst: "Major War" Coming End Of 2012

When cycle forecaster Charles Nenner told the Fox Business network yesterday that the Dow Jones was set to collapse to the 5,000 level on the back of a "major war" that will shake the globe at the end of 2012, hosts David Asman and Elizabeth MacDonald sat in stunned silence.

Nenner, a former technical analyst for Goldman Sachs, is head of the Charles Nenner Research Center, which purports to be able to predict market trends with a computer program based around pattern forecasting and securities analysis. Nenner predicted the stock market and housing collapse over two years before the fall of Lehman Brothers.

Nenner predicts that the Dow is heading down to just 5,000, a gargantuan drop given that it now hovers above the 12,000 level and only sunk as deep as 6,547 during the lowest ebb of the economic collapse in March 2009.

On the back of this forecast, Nenner has advised his clients to vacate the market almost entirely.

According to Nenner, who studies war and peace cycles, the collapse will be initiated by "a major war starting at the end of 2012 to 2013

The U.S may see social strife or some other country might see some strife but wars can be ruled out.Economy and religion are the biggest tools of war

I see war for peace, war for democracy and war for human rights. But at the end war serves none.

If there is a war, there will be peace atleast for the next 10-20 years.
It will not be US-China,it will most probably be Israel-Iran(which will probably result in Iran's destruction.Bye bye Ahmedinijad ).US-China will not have a major war, something like a Cold war.

Is this the Israel-Iranian war they are speaking about
It cannot be that major a war which pushes the US economy to the brink.

Only wars between super powers can do that.
I don't see the US and china go to war just yet. But yes a "trade war" and trillion dollar debt the US owes to China can be the cause.

Many people may have predicted the housing collapse, based on the Community Reinvestment Act passed by the US Congress.

The problem was, the purpose of the Act was to get votes for members of Congress, so no realistic analysis was considered.

Wars actually have a positive Impact on their economy. Just that this time they had real internal issues that led to the recession.come to think of it, it's china which has financed the US war on terror by the size of debt they hold something the US can play around with. But with some consequences.

China funding the war makes it a little over the top, but still the bigger question what war are we taking about???

It's an indirect way of looking at it. China has bought trillion dollar debt.

Like I said, it could be a trade war between the US and China within te larger strategic games bein played. Still I don't see guns blazing so soon. China probably has more to loose in a war so soon than the US.

With 49% of trade dependent on the USA, I don't see a war between either countries

Goldman maybe talking about a Israeli-Iranian war and others allies on both sides?
Again an Israeli Iran war is not going to devastate the US economy. Neither will a direct US Iran war.

If oil supplies are affected it will impact the whole world economy. This is the biggest leverage that
Iran has used -threats of closing the strait of hormuz.
