Which as explained are

Germany exports all components to the UK, the UK then sells the complete fighter to Saudi Arabia or the UAE, under their own export laws.
As the article explained, they were sold to Saudi Arabia with approved export licenses from Germany. Now they will not be approved. End of Story

Which once again shows your lack of understanding, since Germany only stops defence exports of complete systems from Germany, not export of subsystems and they can't stop other partners from selling EFs either. So the EFs that will be build in the UK, with German parts will be sold to Saudi for sure.
NO. It's false.
Germany blocked a french defense sell some years ago because it used a Mercedes truck part.
Since RTD (Renault Defense) and Nexter have developped their own axles.

Interesting exercise participants
RAF pilots from 3 (Fighter) Sqn have begun the final week of Exercise Iniochos 18 in Greece. Normally based at @RAFCGY the pilots are testing themselves flying simulated combat missions with aircrew from Greece the United States, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates.

Don't hold your breath, Belgium will go for F-35.
Bad news for F-35 and Eurofighter in Belgium. The Defence Minister and top generals pushing for F-35 have been caught with a leaked memo stating that the F-16s had several more years of life left in them. Steve Vandeput will be stepping down as DefMin and the lead staff officers on the project acquisition have been removed. The official tender will shortly be cancelled and a G2G deal will commence.

Germany wont intervene in GBs Eurofighter deal with Saudi Arabia

...An often mentioned argument: The Germans could veto the deal with a delivery stop of „Made in Germany“ jet parts. Now I get the feedback from the German MoD on the issue. Their position: Germany couldn’t block Britains Eurofighter deal with the Saudis. According to the ministry, the Eurofighter conventions from 1986 include the warrant, that no partner nation prevents the sale or the permission of products or systems of the programme to third parties...

This would just delay Belgium fighter acquisition if they go for F-16. But Belgiym still has to decide early on acquiring a new fighter since its F-16s can only serve an additional 6 years service with life extension upgrades.

The procurement officers have been removed and the DefMin is stepping down which means all of those who set up the tender for the F-35 to win are out. It means a new direction.

Yeah. If it was any other Nato country than Belgium I would not hold my breath too. But using the fault lines between flemish parties and french speaking parties , France can crack this nut. Just wait and see.
Still standing with my assessment ...

There are two good solutions :
Belgium splits in two parts , one picks Rafale, other F-35.
Belgium buys lots of refuelers that will be more useful to the alliance than a couple of dozens of jets.

I am only half kidding.

Let's see, your guy runs some blog, my guy is the Head of Security and Defence Promotion and Development Policy for the Federation of German Industries.
Lol you haven't read the article do you? He wrote the German MoD and they replied by confirming that the EF agreements prohibits bans. He even added the original German part the reply. :biggrin2:

The min is still active, nothing much has changed, you see Flanders has all the money and F-35 has long been a favorite, now you may feel that a new direction is on the way but that's not happening. The whole thing only shows that some F-16s can operate longer for around 6 years. This only delays the timeline of purchase and this only makes the chance for Rafale worse. Secondly, BAF 31st Tigers based at Kliene Brogel have a nuke attack role currently played by the F-16. The only aircraft suited to carry the B-61 A12 bomb in the near future is the F-35. Rafale doesn't carry this weapon and therefore cannot meet the need. The US won't allow this weapon to be carried on the Rafale or EF. Since, the process will be delayed, the cost of the F-35 will even be lower when the deal is finally struck.

The budget minister and former defence minister doesn't agree with you.

"The F-35 is the obsession of some in the defence, but it is to please the Americans, Today the process is sealed, crashed ... Although the procedure was restarted, it will change men. We can not continue with the same people.

We need to reconstitute the teams and above all integrate new elements that are now on the board, namely the French proposal for a European partnership that is certainly more interesting than the economic and commercial offer of F-35 or the Eurofighter, " - André Flahaut

Yes but regardless what old or current ministers say, Belgium remains committed to hosting US nukes so the Rafale or EF don't have a chance, all these guys will anyways be ex-ministers when the decision is taken for the F-35 sometime early next decade. Costs of the F-35 will be lower or on par with the Rafale & EF and F-35 will win on price quality.
