ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State John Kerry hinted towards an end of the CIA-operated drone campaign in the tribal areas of Pakistan, as he said in a television interview on Thursday that the signature strikes could end "very soon".
"I think the programme will end as we have eliminated most of the threat and continue to eliminate it," Kerry said in an interview with state-run Pakistan Television.
Pressed on whether a timeline was envisaged, Kerry replied: "The president has a very real timeline and we hope it's going to be very, very soon."

I wouldn't be happy if US starts giving IA MRAPs rather than to ANA. It means they anticipate widespread use for them by PA and not ANA.

Now pakis will claim that their ghazi martial eyeballing and placards with "we condom drone attacks" written on them, brought CIA morale so down that CIA is now forced to stop the strikes...

Anticipatory Facepalm.

Without US drone attacks, it would be very difficult for PA to manage the frontier areas..... The US may continue to do that on PA requests !!

What a mess...

Kerry bacche,

How soon is soon?

Is he serious?

His demeanour does not indicate so.

Notice his right eyebrow is raised as if incredulous at what he has said, while is left eye is nearly closed as if in a wink!

Maybe it has something to do with old age wrinkles!

But the Pakistan Govt and the military colluded with the US so that drone strikes continued.

In fact, it helped Pakistan to control the Pastuns, who were and are a law by themselves!

IT turned the pashtun people against the State! And it has increased militancy!
In pashtun culture when a person of a tribe is killed, they seek vengence and in this case they take revenge from the State of Pakistan and this effect is multiplying...

Pashtuns are independent minded people and through history never accepted any central authority.

They are medieval and encapsulated in such a mindset and are not educated in the system of governance beyond their silly tribes and clans.

That is why there was this FATA and all that.

They were never with Pakistan but for form!

Allowing Drone attack made them realise that Pakistan was never with them but wanted to subjugate them through fear and military action that has been outsourced for political correctness.
