Having worked with scientists from DRDO with my own coursemates being part of it from Navy, I have very high regards for them and anyone who tries to tarnish their reputation is unacceptable for me. The best and topmost scientist of India gets less than 1/10th the salary of what an equivalent scientist gets in any european or American lab. These guys have not deserted us for want of money shud tell us all about their love for the nation and they shud be given the most respected status. Anyone like Sreekumar, who had been guilty of undermining their status and character shud be shot dead in front of public or hung from a post to be watched by all those who try to ruin the reputation of such patriots.

Adding little bit to the discussion.

I find it to be worrisome that India projects like GSLV can be easily derailed by such devious schemes like being read that happened to the isro scientist. Karma is a big word but the people that did this have done injustice to a man and his life. Also injustice to a nation,

This has to make the nation work harder.

Next USA had used Chinese rockets (that have cryogenic technology) because of cost. USA has inadvertently some say provided assistance to the Chinese space development. Chinese rockets became better through American help. Chinese has stolen advanced technology from America.

The gslv development was previously blocked by USA from Russia.

The recent administrations of USA has said india and USA are "natural allies". India and USA relationship is growing strongly.

The gslv d5 is scheduled to be launched in December.

Has America helped in gslv and gslv mk3. Has Russia helped. Do Americans want to help more compared to Russians. What about the French. It will be a indian gslv.

For sake of india and USA relationship I am wishing the launch is successful, and USA uses india for launch capabilities due to cost and quality and also offers assistance in future based on shared interests and trust. The indo-USA needs more such developments in its relationship. If the gslv launch fails the earlier blockage of gslv technology from Russia might become a Bangladesh 1971 where they sent the nuclear aircraft carrier. India was doing something good yet ...

Do the Americans want to get closer to india with the purpose of supporting indias path of becoming a global leader is a big question. From what the recent administrations have said and done it is is affirmative. It might be stretching but the gslv d5 success launch will help formulate and grow that strategy and USA and india relationship ought to grow consequently.

It was noted that the USA ambassador was in presence among the scientists when the mars pslv was launched.

If the gslv d5 test is a success it would be good if USA reacts in positive manner and wants india to progress.

Gslv has failed a couple of times.

I trust fully the indian capability of isro and able to master the cryogenic technology and gslv and gslv mk3 launch structures.

The fact is the gslv and gslv mk3 development are happening by isro and india internally. It's only matter of time. My wish is that it was faster and more resources spent.

Jai hind.

decade and a half later, it's the BJP's turn to use the story. Sore at former Gujarat DGP R.B. Sreekumar testifying against the Modi government in the fake encounter cases—potential dynamite it wants badly to defuse—it has stumbled on his controversial role (as an IB official) while investigating the ISRO case. Sree kumar has been charged by many—including by the CBI—of not conducting a fair probe; some even accuse him of cooking up charges against the scientists. The BJP alleges that Sreekumar's role as an upright cop speaking the truth is just payback to the UPA for helping hush up his culpability in the ISRO case.
So there is nothing in BJP's allegation that there is a quid pro quo involved in Sree Kumar's tirade against Modi govt.
The BJP's raking up the ISRO spy case will not return one of India's top rocket scientists the best years of his career. What it can do is prompt the state government to overlook the bitterness of a long-settled legal tangle and settle the issue in a humane manner with him. The politics is another matter
Well after pretending to shed crocodile tears for nambi narayanan the journo lets the editorial cat out of the bag i.e it is stupid of BJP to raise this matter now!!!! and it is just politics, and there are no national security angles to it!!!!

Such a disgusting non chalant attitude to a monumental waste of the best years of an indian cryogenic specialist is nothing to worry about,

Why? because Modi had a ten minute meeting with him. Note not a single wretched politician from kerala's ruling congress regime has thought it fit to give him a personal audience. And the saint Antony Who is the MOD and also from the state of kerala thought it not fit to meet the scientist!!!!

A national magazine covering the event at such a biased manner , never pausing for a second that what is the motivation of Sree kumar & co in pursuing the scientists knowing fully well they were innocent,

Of course only a honest journo would attend to those questions not paid hatchet men

PMO unconcerned about scientist deaths
What is surprising is the inattention of the Government of India towards what many believe to be a systematic outside effort to slow down India's march towards nuclear excellence by killing those involved in the process. Such a modus operandi differs from that followed in the case of the cryogenic engine scandal in 1994, when key scientists working on the program to develop an indigenous cryogenic engine were picked up by the Intelligence Bureau and the Kerala police on false charges of espionage, together with two Maldivian women. The Bill Clinton administration had sought to scupper the Russian sale of such engines to India, but Russian scientists friendly to India had secretly handed over blueprints relating to the making of such engines.

This soon became known to the CIA, which is believed to have orchestrated the plan to paralyse the program by sending its key scientists to prison. Although the charges were found to be entirely false, that vindication took a decade to come about, and in the process, the Indian program was slowed down by an equivalent number of years. Thus far, none of the IB or Kerala police officers who acted as the apparent catspaw of a foreign intelligence agency in slapping false charges on key scientists has suffered even a minor punishment, much less be arraigned for treason.

Well after this way ward rocket one page crocodile tears ten more pages were devoted to giving History lessons to Modi, the most important issue concerning India's national security according to OUTLOOK perhaps,

True OUTLOOK has it's own reasons to tear into Modi no one gives a shit about that, but such a cavalier piece on ISRO fake space is simply unjustified.
