Dhruv MK 3 helicopters to NSG Commandos.
Frank25 my friend what about your opinion about Dhruv MK 3 helicopter given to NSG Commandos for urban operation.
All members please give your opinion and suggestions about Dhruv MK 3 given NSG commandos for urban operation.
good move, this will keep existing prod line of dhrv running & spare kept producing, but also MLH should be developed..it is high time now.
It is a good move only if Dhruv mk3 has armour plating like MI-17.......
The operations generally done by the NSG do not warrant a attack helicopter. Helicopters are only used by the NSG for quick insertion and they have the Mi-17 for that. Feel free to correct me.
Dhruv MK 3 is not an attack helicopter it is an upgraded version with night flying cabilities and upgraded engines.
Dhruv MK 3 helicopter is upgraded version is not an attack helicopter. Dhruv MK 3 version launched in 2012.
An improved version equipped with Shakti engines, new electronic warfare (EW) suite and warning systems, automatic chaff and flare dispensers, and improved vibration control system. The first batch were inducted into service in 2012.
Yikes.. My bad. Apologies. I mistook the Mk-3 for the ALH WSI (which would be Mk-4). However, how effective would an ALH be for the Urban roles that the NSG is deployed in? But then, the ALH WSI would be a perfect for for the Pathankot type operations.
