Hard to tell. If the 8 rounds per minute is for sustained rate of fire then it is very good. If it is for intermittent rate of fire then it is same as the old gun.

Idiots will now say that the Indian gun has a lower rate of fire than the original gun while neglecting the cool off period required in the FH-77 after the 3 round burst.

The reporter is at fault, he/she mentions burst mode of one to sustained mode of other.

Is it the same gun which during trials last year had its fire box exploding.

its range is not clear.

155 mm gun now has one public sector +drdo gun, tata, L&t JV and two or three other players from private sector going for contract. IA should make its mind.
They should not stop at just hundred guys but must ask for thousand guns.

Its the same barrel which exploded due to defect in explosive charge or barrel ..

The range of this gun is 40kms, It is thicker and longer than previous 39cal gun ..

With special ammo it can reach to +60kms ..

Let Kunal Biswas or other expert verify this report.

Army to get 155 mm gun, advanced radar equipment soon

Army officials said that while the Bofors has a rate of fire of three rounds per 14 seconds, the indigenous Dh****h could fire eight rounds per minute. Dh****h, which in the trial stage, would soon be inducted, said the army officers.

Apart from that, Swathi, an upgraded weapon locating radar (WLR) and K****iz, equipment for obeservation, would also be inducted in the plethora of the new generation surveillance and target acquisition equipment, the army officers added.Both Swathi and K****iz are indigenously made. While the former is an upgraded version of the US-made WPL ANTPQ-37, the latter will be an upgraded version of the Israel-made long-range reconnaissance and observation system (LORROS).

With such a high rate of fire, A unit consist of just 4 X Dhanush guns can do more damage than A unit consist of 8 x 130mm M46 guns at range of 40kms ..

True Said Sir, IA should order these in Thousands, Its best replacement for 130mm from service ..

Afaik, It will come with DRDO`s 155mm of 52cal Gun ..
