Though I am non-vegetarian and am slowly trying to change the habit as it hampers my meditation and spirituality, I must say that religious sacrifice is kinda wrong.

Think about it; if god has created everything, then why would s/he demand killing of his own creation, by another creation?

Whether it is the hindus or muslims or jews or anyone using religion to sacrifice animals it is simply man-made concept.

From food perspective when nothing else is available then it makes sense.

Food habits does not change easily so it takes time.I left long time back even though meat was common in our diet of traditional "warriors" as it's called.

Sacrifices were part of Hinduism too but slowly it has faded away while here we have this so called "religion" which still follows inhuman ways to "celebrate".

Eid "festival" should be taken off the list of "festivals since it's NOT a festival since all lives matters.Or else the cake should be cut of the sacrifice should be given of someones own relative if someone is so devoted to his religion.

Sugarcoating slaughter as sacrifice is textbook pretentiousness. What exactly are Muslims "sacrificing"? Are they sacrificing themselves? Their family members? No. They're slaughtering a grown animal they bought from the market a day before the festival. Even those with livestock aren't raising goats to be pets or family members.

So Muslims are both pretentious and hypocritical in this matter.

Animal sacrifice is very rare among Hindus, and the sacrificed animal is cremated, not eaten. Nobody disputed eating meat. I could care less if Muslims bought meat from the market on Bakrid. But the very construct of Bakrid is sacrifice (read: meaningless ceremonial slaughter).

So what if they're upper-caste Hindus? If they can rule on Jalikattu, they can rule on Bakrid. If they can banish a festival in some far-flung state of India involving taming (≠ killing) bulls, then they can bloody well take suo motu cognizance of something affecting millions of animals all around the country.

This is not about someone's pallet or their culinary preferences. This is about teaching children to devalue life by showing them just how easy it is to take life.

Muslims are EXTREMELY hypocritical in this matter as it's just proven in the above post.Their refusal to evolve with times is evident in their practices(started 1400 years ago) specially this so called "festival" of bloodshed.

Non-Muslims have changed with times but Muslims not only refuse to change with time but hell bent on even justifying something which has no logic at all and self contradictory.

Even some Muslims have started coming out against this so called festival.Very interestingly lot of suicide bombings/riots worldwide happens on Friday which is a "holy" day for them.

actually this practice makes them ruthless and careless and less emotional.

Tomorrow even if they lose some one they will not care. This whole tribe of muslims doesn't care. They just want blood of non muslims that's all. Because Muslims believes they are at war with non Muslims so Hindus are also dragged in it.

This is why we Hindus have to follow Vedas. We have to learn from Mahabharat and follow what Krishna said.

Sacrifice and Fasting in Islam is just an appropriation of two words from religions having higher reverence, moralities and practices.

A good look at both the Sacrifice and Fasting will show, neither sacrifice is a sacrifice nor fasting is actually a fast.

Those who have seen avid followers of Hinduism Buddhism and Jainism doing long fasting and still eating few grams of food to break, compare to Ramadan where you eat before sun rise like food will finish on earth after today; and eat again in the evening.

Same goes with the sacrifice where people slaughter thousands of animals; who obviously wants to live, just to brag about their prosperity to neighbors and relatives then to store the meat in freezers.

The sacrifice that can relate to one's spiritual gains, repent for the sins / own's vice and giving up something valuable to impress divinity appears a gimmick.

Saw it on FB and here is more to add. These followers of Religion of Peace claim they respect woman and spreads message of peace.They gave sacrifice of a Muslim woman who rose up against this so called festival of slaughtering and bloodshed.

No argument is destroyed. They are not claiming festival is about cutting cakes. Neither do they have doubt what to do to those who prevent them from practicing of their religion. No hypocrisy there. It is you people who are trying to impose your own moral definitions on them and acting confused.
