DF21 would only be effective if a carrier is close to the Chinese Eastern seaboard.other than that it would have little or no role in the naval sense. US is not stupid to get that close most things may be done from the waters thousands of kilometers away from subs. When Desert storm started US launched 2,000-4,000 tomahawks missiles in Iraq from the Persian Sea from subs many miles away on the first day.
They shot down their own satellite and never shared info about it with anyone. Any nation with an IRBM and a space program can possibly do the same thing.well everyone plz dont misunderstand me ,the chinese Ballistic missile technology is very advanced if they can shoot down a satellite why cant they shoot down an aircraft carrier as only thing is required some accurate guidance which may be given by IIR seeker or Millimter wave radar .
Yes it can be shot down but if it attains MIRV or emp warheead it can really devastate an aircraft carrier group .
Well it's an indian defence forum so thats why we are underestimating it u would surprise if u post it any chinese or paki forum they would say DF 21d is superior to brahmos & would give 100 reasons to justify it

You are right,many SM-3 test have not gone well. But now things seemed to have been fixed and moved on to SM-6 which can be used against ballistic missiles along with X-band radar that will pick up any threats 2,000km away.the chinese military dont share their secrets to their wifes , what would they share to the world .
Well they do it ballistic missiles while US did it with interceptor missiles SM3 interceptor if i am corrrect

The greater the force the Chinese us against US the greater the retaliation will be by USA. And the 30 operational ICBM 's China has compared to USA's 8,000+, it's stupid and suicidal by China.

USA also has a hypersonic weapon that can strike anywhere in the world within 1 hour, maybe it will be tested when China uses DF-21?
