MHA seeks to deport Rohingyas from Jammu and Kashmir

NEW DELHI: Union Home Ministry is mulling over a proposal from the Jammu and Kashmir Government to deport an estimated 10,000 Rohingyas living illegally in the State.

The issue of deportation of the Rohingya Muslims was discussed at a high-level meeting convened by Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and attended by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Braj Raj Sharma and Director General of Police S P Vaid.

"The Ministry is exploring ways and means to identify and deport the Rohingya Muslims from the State," said a Union Home Ministry official after the meet.

Most of the Rohingya Muslims are settled in Jammu and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir and came to the state over the years after entering India illegally through either Indo-Bangladesh border or Indo-Myanmar border.

An estimated 50,000 Rohingyas are living in different parts of the country including in Hyderabad and Haryana, all of whom have entered illegally.

The role of Rohingyas in insidious activities has been flagged by the security agencies. Few of the accused persons were allegedly involved in the terror attack at Buddhist shrine in Bodh Gaya.

The move comes after the renewed bid by the Pakistan-based terror Lashkar-e-Taiba to exploit the Rohingyas for carrying out terror activities in India and Bangladesh. The Rohingyas’ role in smuggling and drug trafficking in the Northeast for raising funds for terror activities has also been underscored by the Intelligence agencies.

Rohingyas originally belong to Rakhine province of Myanmar and many of them have left the country after the crackdown against the community by the agencies there.

Recent inputs also suggest a large number of Rohingyas have been radicalised by the LeT and has become a major security concern in Bangladesh. LeT chief Hafeez Saeed has been vocally supportive of the community’s alleged grievances and has held several camps over the past few years.

Saeed has also been instrumental in creating an umbrella organisation there to radicalise more people from the community for pursuing the wider terror agenda of the outfit in the region, an official said.

50,000 Rohingya Muslims living illegally in India. Since they are poor, each will give birth to 4-8 kids as "Allah" demands.

Achievement(Care a damn attitude) of CONgress and Nationalist CONgress party or an insidious plot to change the Hindu demography of this country just to win elections.

Cuz 50,000 is not a small number.

Thanks to the CongrASS, they turned a blind eye to this illegal infiltration of Rohingyas for votes! These Congressis can even sell their mothers for a few votes. They care a fuk about the security or the nation. Three million BDs were allowed to settle down in Assam as it was a huge Cong vote bank. They still got screwed in the elections, but forever damaged the fabric of the country.

Now it's the Rohingyas! What next?

Wow! Kashmiri pandits and sikhs cannot own houses there without being killed. We non-Kashmiris cannot buy property there at all.

But "poor MUSLIM" Rohingya foreigners can be settled there?! WOW!

Why does MHA need so many clearances? Just call them a security threat and throw them out.

I, a legal Indian cannot own land and run business or live In J&K. But illegal foreigners can? And they get aadhar cards? Oh great. Thanks congress.

They went all the way from Our eastern border to Kashmir? This is just not possible with help from some Indian traitor. Find the people behind this. This deserves an investigation from NIA.

Article already says that this is way too suspicious. I really hope a detailed investigation is done and the culprits caught.

That is the real meaning of secularism in Indian politics.

So if those Indian who do not realise the danger of this mask that anti-national politicians use, please wake up.

Nope. Real meaning of secularism in India means appeasement of all religions except Hinduism. Appeasement of Hinduism is in India is nationalistic & extremist but not secular.

Why do the residents of Jammu tolerate such non sense? Both Hindus and Muslims living in Jammu these illegals will take away yours and your childrens jobs as well. Just look at the mess in WB and kerala.

At-least they kicked out the previous government. But still not enough.

How the hell is it that Indians are not able to settle in J&K due to 370, Kashmir Pandits themselves are not able to settle in J&K despite being their native place but stateless Rohyingas who don't have recognition even in Bangladesh are able to settle in J&K?

Are we all collectively eating low iodine food? has our mental growth been stunted? are we that stupid? what's going on?

Menakshi Lekhi has revealed that it was the Congress who gave legal documents and settled the Rohyingas in J&K (probably to win votes to offset the popularity of domestic Kashmiri parties)

It's interesting. The Napoleonic version of secularism, Laicite, requires all religions to drop their religion in public and keep it behind closed doors. It means that Christians and Muslims both have to wear neutral clothing and shut-up about religion in public.
