NEW DELHI: In what should scotch all doubts about who was responsible for the Samjhauta Express blasts of February 2007 that killed about 70 people, US has approached the UN to get a certain Asif Kasmani declared an international terrorist.

The reasons cited by US to get Kasmani, a Pakistani national, declared an international terrorist are his involvement in the Samjhauta Express blasts.

Propaganda is [dis]information perpetrated by those that have cause-related vested interests. We have no vested interest in perpetuating a militant Hinduism, or militant whatever, in our Army. Simply because our Army is institutionally secular. It goes against the nature of the Army to perpetuate communal or ethnic cleavages, because it impacts everything from its functioning to its professional [apolitical] orientation, its perception [management], its efficiency, officer-soldier relations, recruitment [which is a big problem] and bureaucratic control over its agencies. Hence they are found and extricated, in the case of Col. Purohit court martialled. Not so in the case of yours. Because you are 97% muslim!
