Cyberpark to place Kozhikode on IT map - The Hindu

Kozhikode will become the third major IT destination in the State when Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikuttty formally opens the Cyberpark here on Saturday.

The park, set up by Kerala State IT Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL), is situated along the NH bypass road, a prime location in the city which falls under the city Corporation.
    Zero water-logging

A major feature of the Cyberpark is the terrain with zero water-logging.

The development of the arterial roads, compound walls, and retaining walls conformed to the high standards of construction of the park, sources said.

KSITIL would take up work on a 20-MW, 110-kV, gas-insulated substation and a second IT building for the park. The total investment by the government in the Cyberpark would exceed Rs.250 crore in the next two years.
    Special zones

Both special economic zone (SEZ) and non-SEZ options would be available soon within park, sources said.

With the opening of the Cyberpark, Kozhikode would be the most prominent IT destination between Kochi and Mangalore and was expected to help in the development of Malabar region. Minister for Social Welfare M.K. Muneer will preside over the inaugural function.
