Sir, AMD has pretty much gained with chiplet designs. Desktop/Server CPU share of AMD is on the rise and may further increase with Zen3 processors. Intel has been forced to reduce desktop prices by half ..great for consumers.

If I had to build a PC today, i would pretty much build AMD due to chance of upgradability (socket remaining) between zen1/2/3. AMD roadmap is also solid with CPU. AMD is now mainly lacking in laptop market, lets see if 7nm zen2 can change anything.

Yeah, but are you sure that the same socket will be used in Zen 3 ?

I heard it's still the same AM4 socket support till 2020. Dont blame me if it changes though it's still "rumour". :biggrin2:
Ok I asked because there were some problems with Zen2 and its reverse compatibility.

The problems were mainly with motherboard manufacturers and there bios updates/support. AMD as company kept their promise & honored socket support. I saw lot of gamer youtubers upgrade older MB successfully. Again you wont see all gains as memory speed/peripheral support still depends on MB. E.g. pci 4.0 cannot be used keeping same motherboards (which will be common may be year later).

For mobile / PC/Android, there is a grind style game named- Lifeafter , you guys can try it- about 3.1Gb to download with initial updates, later almost 1.1 Gb, some mix of EFT+DayZ+Scum+Squad.
but really worth trying

If I were to buy a gaming laptop for 70k, by how much a better margin would a same price desktop outperform it by? (Considering cost for all components except for display).

PS: I own all consoles except for the current gen ones. I really didn't like the PS4 exclusives for far, so haven't got one yet.

Build PC instead.of that in 70K you will get a decent gaming PC with 1660 super. And PC is updatable you can always push new GPU in and you are good to go.
Laptops are small heating issues also come with them . And they are expensive in 70k you will get 1650 ti in laptop.

Anyone playing death stranding? Game looks good. Last game I played was The Evil within 2. I mainly enjoy these dark themed survival horror games.

Thanks. I have totally lost touch with the desktop scene since the last few years; my previous build was a Xeon workstation.

Can you recommend a config for around 50K (monitor not needed)? I am mainly into machine learning and analytics; 1080p gaming at max settings is what I want on the gaming front. I can stretch my budget if needed.

Two choices in graphic cards.

With
AMD
RX-5700-MECH-OC-8G

₹32,299
Same build will cost 13k more 64307.
https://mdcomputers.in/amd-radeon-rx-5700-series.html

Both cards justify there price. And 1660super can run any game at ultra max at 1080P no worries.
But RX-5700 is also a beast it can pull anything too justify it's price it's mostly for 1440P gaming.

All the prices are from MD computers.

Cabinet you can choose with your own taste.
And with PC gaming you will save tons of money buy using pirated games too.
I love to play pirated EA games. :bounce:

LOL, true that :D

For my programming needs wouldn't you say a Ryzen 7 is more preferable than Ryzen 5?
