At least six persons, including two police officers, were injured in incidents of stone hurling and group clashes in Bholakpur in Musheerabad station limits in the wee hours of Thursday, forcing authorities to clamp prohibitory orders, roll out bundles of concertina wire to restrict people's movement and step up patrolling. An incident of stabbing around 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday sparked the communal trouble, which escalated tension in sensitive areas all over the city. Two more stray incidents of violence were reported from other areas. In Mangalhat, a policeman's two-wheeler was burnt and another vehicle was damaged by riotous mobs, while in Chilkalguda miscreants burnt a religious flag.
...

The genesis of Wednesday night's trouble was an altercation in which a person herding a bull was stabbed at Muggu Basti near Kavadiguda. The assailants suspected that the man was taking it for slaughter. On coming to know about the attack, his relatives and people of his locality gathered at Musheerabad police station and protested.

Communal clash in Hyderabad

At least four persons and two police officials were injured when two groups form different communities clashed after a youth was stabbed late last evening, prompting authorities to clamp prohibitory orders in Musheerabad area here today.

Seven persons have been arrested.

Mohammad Arif, resident of Bholakpur, was assaulted by miscreants near a temple at Kavadiguda at around 9 PM yesterday. Subsequently, local youths from both communities gathered in large number and attacked each other with stones, police said.

Six persons, including Central Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi and a Sub Inspector, were injured and at least six vehicles including state-run RTC buses damaged in the violence.

Police claimed that the situation was brought under control within one hour, however, some reports said the stone-pelting continued till early morning.

Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC, restricting movement in the area for twenty-four hours, were imposed in Musheerabad at 6 this morning.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said the situation was now under control, and peace had returned.

According to police, the trouble started when some locals alleged that Arif was taking a bull to slaughter house forcibly, while he claimed it was his animal.

Following this, he was stabbed, which triggered the clash.

Riots again Hyderabad yesterday night :frusty:frusty:
Tension gripped the communally sensitive areas of the old city after clashes between groups of two communities erupted late on Monday night. At least 10 persons, including three police officers, were injured in stone-hurling incidents and five shops were set ablaze by miscreants in different areas in Kulsumpura police station limits.

Heavy contingents of police were moved into Kulsumpura, Dhoolpet, Mangalhat, Ziaguda, Jhirra, Sabzimandi, Karwan and other areas, while patrolling was stepped up in other areas of the old city as members of the two communities indulged in heavy stone pelting in Kulsumpura following reports that some flags pitched at religious places were burnt by members of the other community.
Row over flags

Tension had been building up in these localities from Sunday night after some flags at a religious place were allegedly removed by the other community.

The Hindu : Cities / Hyderabad : Tension escalates in old city

On Monday too, similar complaints were voiced by one community which flared up leading to heavy gathering of people in the lanes and bylanes. The slogan-shouting mobs hurled stones at each other and the police used canes repeatedly to disperse them. However, it turned out to be a see-saw battle between the miscreants and the police in the labyrinthine lanes and bylanes of the locality. Shops were set afire in Sabzimandi locality and fire tenders could not immediately reach the spots. Trouble was, however, confined mostly to Sabzimandi locality, though the surrounding areas were enveloped by tension. Police closed down the shops and ordered people not to come out on to the roads in Mehdipatnam and other localities too.
ACP among injured

Police said Goshamahal ACP D. Srinivas was among the injured policemen. Senior officers, including Additional CP Amit Garg, rushed to the spot to personally monitor the situation.

The situation remained tense when reports came in last. By midnight, tension was again building up with many women coming out of their homes in Kulsumpura alleging that the police were picking up youngsters from homes selectively. Karwan legislator Afsar Khan, who rushed to the place, was mobbed by women who raised slogans.

Tension has been palpable in sensitive areas of the city for the last one week or so in the State capital with leaders of the two communities flexing their muscles over several issues, including the slaughter of cows during Bakrid. Bholakpur and Mushirabad localities witnessed group clashes five days ago. Just as the situation was returning to normalcy, there were fresh developments in Kulsumpura.
