November 11, 1944 military units Infantry Corps 3 Ukrainian Front were attacked by a group of 12 U.S. aircraft P-38 "Lightning". On interception flew out of 6 Yak-9 and a pair of Yak-3, 866 fighter regiment.
As a result of the battle was shot down 6 of usa (one of the fire of the earth) and three Soviet fighter.

April 17, 1945 fighter La-7, the Soviet ace Kozhedub was attacked by a pair of American P-51, who took him for a German Fw-190. As a result, both of the American fighter were shot down.

October 8, 1950. Two fighters F-80C «Shooting Star» by mistake attacked the Soviet airfield. Accepting Soviet stars in Korean, the piston aircraft. As a result of the bombing was damaged nine Soviet aircraft P-39 and P-63. One of them was burnt down completely. Victims of the American and the Soviet side was not. The regiment commander, U.S. air force was dismissed from his post. Both pilots were put on a military tribunal and dismissed from the army.

And why they changed the name of the thread? There is such history, which is not accepted proud of.( as "friendly fire" or fire about the error).

Discovery, History and NGC show all western military prowess and greatness. I hope this thread will show what the soviets and eastern bloc countries did. something that never comes to light.

Minor correction, USAF existed in 1947, so pilots were not US Army Air Force in 1950.

The P-39s and P-63 must have been given to USSR during WWII.

Engine was behind cockpit in both these aircraft, hence air scoop behind canopy.

This type of aircraft P-39(63) of the USSR did not return at the end of the lend-lease. (Their fully bought out).

You are right, Lend-Lease program is something I have little knowledge of.

US deliveries to USSR
Airacobra and Kingkobra - like the Soviet pilots. All other types of British and American fighters were sent to the air-defense forces or non-hazardous areas of the front.
