The cancellation of A380 has only boosted production of the A350. The 787 is reducing production from 14 to 12 units due to reduced demand and poor quality controls. Airbus is winning the battle of wide-bodies. Airbus has already decimated Boeing in the war for single aisle as Boeing threatens to cease production of the 737 MAX. The A380 needed to be kept in production long enough to recoup its development cost, it isn't a loss, it is a wash. The real loser is Boeing who is quickly becoming the pariah of aerospace as a greedy corporation that doesn't care about passenger safety.
