Was at DRDO expo at CVRDE Chennai...spoke to the guy manning the Arjun stall...teh CVRDE guy hinted that as far as CLGM is concerned the goal posts have been shifted and the user wants the missle's effective lower range at 500m...he lamented that the gun along with the state of the art hydro gas suspension has made firing unguided ammunition on the move highly accurate at that range making the new spec of CLGM redundant....no happy faces as Arjun mk2 is now sitting without a missile to test......

I think the Army changed the minimum engagement range requirement to 500 meters because the CLGM will also morph into a shoulder fired ATGM dubbed SAHMO or something.

CLGM was designed to be test fired from tripod also.....In March 2015 during one development flight test CLGM was test fired from tripod. However CLGM in the current avatar can be used for validating capability in Arjun mk2 than to wait for re-engineered CLGM and causing further delay to Arjun Mk2...IA should study the way airforce is going through Tejas FOC, they used matured systems for validating various functions instead of using or waiting for in-development system eg they used derby to prove BVRAAM capability instead of waiting for Astra Of course one can say that they tried to prove the capability by using LAHAT....whose future is bleak... but the user should go for alternate system until the indigenous one matures.
