You better read first, write second :)
I've taked about Su-27, which require Al-31F family engines, which can be bought in Russia only.
Su-25 has R-95Sh engines which are R-25 version without aftreburner. R-25 series engines are used on MiG-21 and are widely available on the second hand market.
And yes, Su-17 is powered by Al-21F-3 and cannot be powered by almost twice smaller and less powerfull R-25 with different mounting scheme and harness :)
So no Su-17 as Su-25 engines flying lab :)

After the war, information has become more closed. It is known that in Zaporozhye has developed the engine with a thrust of 14 tons, also there are fixed bugs from the Chinese WS-13.
su-17 and su-24 use the same engines.

BGG....
Progress can develop no engines since 2014.
All of AI-xxx projects are paper projects only.
Progress has no technology stack even for old Al-31 renewance, not speaking about WS-13 (which is RD-33 derivative, not Al-31).
The main problem is metallurgic insufficiency which doesn't allow to produce (and even develop) a proper turbine blades, made of intermetallide compounds like Titanium Aluminide (AlTi).

An-132D is done without any technological efforts from ukrainian side. It is just one prototype built from Western parts for Saudi Arabia, including Western engines.
It cannot be even cosidered as a step to ability to build a modern fighter (Molot minethrower killing their crews and Pozor-B cracking on welding lines are the very edge of ukrainian defence industry (c) Pasinskiy).

Russia does not have exclusive, you can always find subcontractors.

Wait and see. Ukraine is not even building a new ammunition factory. Cheaper to buy a new Bulgarian.

Defense industry is very important for Ukraine and if the government instead of building new factory or upgrading existing ones then the industry will lose its skill and competitiveness and die and reduce the economy.
