By the time ISRO carries out a soft landing on the moon, the CNSA will probably have completed its mission to return lunar samples to earth through another lunar mission scheduled for early next year.
New Delhi: India is aiming for the Moon again, as Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) second unmanned moon mission, Chandrayaan 2, is set to lift off in March 2018, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (IC) for Atomic Energy and Space has announced.

On Monday, September 25, CNSA’s Tian Yulong, announced the delay of the Moon mission at the International Astronautical Conference (IAC) held in Adelaide, Australia.

Chinese scientists now expect the launch to occur sometime around early 2019 although no official timetable has been established.

China’s Space Station May Crash in to Europe

The European Space Agency (ESA) has already narrowed down the possible crash sites for the Chinese ‘Tiangong-1’ space station, including several European nations, which is due to meet its fiery end early in 2018.:scared1:

The agency will lead an international campaign comprised of a total of 13 space agencies from around the world to track the Chinese space station which has begun its terminal descent towards Earth. The majority of the spacecraft is expected to burn up on reentry to Earth’s atmosphere, according to a press release by the ESA.

“Owing to the geometry of the station’s orbit, we can already exclude the possibility that any fragments will fall over any spot further north than 43 degrees North or further south than 43 degrees South,” says Holger Krag, Head of ESA’s Space Debris Office.

These latitudes indicate that Spain, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria and Greece could all be in the firing line should any larger pieces of debris from the station fail to break up completely in the atmosphere.:scared1:

“The date, time and geographic footprint of the reentry can only be predicted with large uncertainties. Even shortly before reentry, only a very large time and geographical window can be estimated,” Krag added. “In the history of spaceflight, no casualties due to falling space debris have ever been confirmed,” the agency was careful to add.

The ESA has assumed the leadership role of the test monitoring campaign conducted by the Inter Agency Space Debris Coordination Committee (IADC). The IADC is comprised of multiple European space agencies, including NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA of Japan, ISRO of India, KARI of South Korea and the China National Space Administration.

The IADC members will pool their resources to track the craft’s likely point of impact on Earth while predicting the likely time window in which the :scared1::rofl:‘Heavenly Palace’ :scared1:Tiangong-1 station will finally break up. The station is currently orbiting at an altitude of 300km (190 miles), travelling at approximately 7km per second.

“The aim is to cross-verify, cross-analyse and improve the prediction accuracy for all members,” the agency wrote in its press release. The station’s current orbit can be viewed here.

There has been no contact with the station since 2016 having been abandoned in 2013. The craft is expected to make an uncontrolled reentry between January and March 2018. The ESA conducted a similar campaign in 2013 during the uncontrolled reentry of its GOCE satellit

Start counting the days....

ISRO is to set record on 28/12/17 we won't be launching one, but three rovers creating the record.

If you ask about records, then ISRO has a long list of breaking the old records and setting new ones.

Instead of all the rant, I think highly advanced country like yours, should have participated in the Lunar Xpress contest. Then again, if 3000 participants submitted their interest, all of'em without any previous knowledge on space missions, then why there is a lack of interest from China.
I have been counting the days, but nothing happened.

SAN MATEO, Calif. — The foundation running the Google Lunar X Prize announced Jan. 23 that the $20 million grand prize for a commercial lunar lander will expire at the end of March without a winner.

TeamIndus had also sought to raise tens of millions of dollars to complete and launch its lander, but had not disclosed the progress it made amid reports in the Indian media that the Indian space agency ISRO had cancelled its launch contract. The team tweeted Jan. 23 that it will “share what the future holds for us” on Jan. 25.

Masterpiece of chinese engineering. When china make any such spacecraft, they should put bombs in it so that it may be destroyed when china wants.

Wait till end of the year as you can see the landing of three rowers in a single attempt. An attemt never conducted by any space agency till date.

A much better version of rover from ISRO will come along with Chandrayaan 2 in 2018.

If you are willing to be honest in any way then you wouldn't say that India lacks in technology.

We were the first to detect water on Moon. We are the only nation to suscced to Mars in the very first attempt.

Manned flight is not attempted because of other priorities.
The successful landing of chang'e 4 just reminded me that someone bragged about the Chandrayaan 2 mission which was supposed to be accomplished in 2018. Well, I guess not.
