This is so hilarious coming from people whose own country can't make a darn thing （The Tejas springs to mind）after trying so hard for 30 freaking long years。

Tejas can hardly be called an indigenous jet made from scratch. With the admitted 60% imported content (in reality probably higher since indian parts with foreign-amde subparts are counted as indigenous), LCA is not a true indigenous aircraft by any stretch. And if you open the aircraft don't find design elements from Mig21, i would be very surprised as Mig21 was the only modern aircraft India had any experience building at the time the basic design of LCA was made. Also don't tell me the striking similarities between LCA and Mirage 2000 were just pure coincidence, with Mirage2000 being in service with IAF when LCA was designed and itself an aircraft IAF likes a lot.

LCA = Mirage2000 external design + Mig21 intrnal design + american engine + israeli radar + everythingelse european

The picture says it all, LCA is truely an international product.

I was refering to the airframe design. You have to get experience from somewhere, in LCA's case manufacturing experience gained from Mig21 was prettymuch the only source of reference available. Also tailless delta configuration has nothing to do with fly-by-wire. Mirage2000 looks almost like a carbon copy of Mirge3 which first flew in 1956 and certainly did not have any fly-by-wire at all.

This thread is not to talk about Tejas... you can spew your venom and hatred and derail the topic only on pakistani forum. not in DFI.

Yeah Yeah Yeah, open LCA and you will be more than surprised. Actually you might find a bicycle in it. The pilot has to pedal so fast to compress the air and help use it in the jet stream. Oh come on. We are not claiming it to be an F22 like you do.

It doesnt share anything in common with Mig21 except deployment. LCA has an advanced fly-by-wire system while Mig21 clearly hasn't got that (Unlike the wireless system in JF17). Another commonality is that both has a seat for the driver (read: pilot, that was a joke ) It looks similar to Mirage2000? it is because both planes have similar theory behind design.. highly unstable delta wing. Is it a copy? No. Why? Just design config wouldn't suffice. A small change in aerodynamics alone will take a lot of testing. The standing proof for LCA being an original design is the years of R&D in windtunnels. Engine is american, but we have a project in place which will bear fruits soon. Why we still persist with it? Because it sets us free from buying and creates a great platform for our future products. We have an israeli radar in it and an R&D program in place along with that. Why do we buy/collaborate? because we dont have that infrastructure yet and we are willing to pay and learn (read: not stealing). Aw'well.. I can go on and on naming fingers and pointing names, but couldn't just give two hoots.

pakistan was making sincere efforts to make jf-17 somewhat mig-21 of 60s, bestseller, but the crash well withing the rant of the so called pakistani developer smoked everything. he said its a formidable aircraft and has got no flaws, can take care of everything but see, it cant even take care of itself. he even put tejas in his rant and finally got a practical answer from their own shaheen.
