Chinese Real Estate Developer Minmetals Land Inc. have set a new standard in Piracy
in keeping with their country's finest Tradition of Copycatting..
A centuries-old village of Hallstatt in Austria with a population of 800 people and a UNESCO heritage site that survives on tourism
has been copied down to the Last Statue !!! ...:shocked: in Huizhou
Hallstatt visitors said they were proud to be copied but also disappointed that it was done without permission
"They should have asked the owners of the hotel and the other buildings if we agree with the idea to rebuild Hallstatt in China, and they did not," hotel owner Monika Wenger said ahead of the opening ceremony. "And that was a big problem we had with this project here."
by the way This hasn't gone down well even with some locals
"Chinese architecture is very characteristic and stylish," said Zhong Ping, a Huizhou resident. "Just work on your own style. Why do you have to copy others? Even the flowers are fake — I can tell they are fake at first glance."

what purpose does it serve......i mean copying something of essence is okay but a village!!!!
wonder if they shall copy the Taj Mahal, India gate, Charminar etc.?...we should have a new patent office patenting the architecture....

Good for China's replicating skills.
Though as an Asian, I would be more comfortable if the Europeans copied Asian villages!
Maybe the Chinese have sniffed money from copycat tourism.
That also is very innovative and very Chinese to be proud of!

u r rite.....' I would be more comfortable if the Europeans copied Asian' stuff but my questions r.....r my indian friends here proud of coying english as your offical language?? and who copied whom???hollywood.....bollywood......judging by the statments here i m sure its the stuipd white people who copied the name of bollywood.........
