well, India's per capital GDP is only 1000+ USD,about 1/4-1/5 of CHina's one.

There is a news that china is going to build 40000tn LPDs for its navy. Any one shed some light on this ?

such news was revealed by a PLAN rear admiral on CCTV....I think that the news is reliable...


SInce one LPDs is 40000Tn, it is quite possible the AC PLA is building might be a 80000tn + super AC

BTW, the head of CHinese largest shipbuilder, CSIC,(http://www.csic.com.cn/),said that CHinese first home-made AC will use catasult.

the quality of indian iron core is inferior to those from Brazil and Australia...but it's not the reason of the declined import. some Indian or Indian organization are not willing to export raw material to others with the development of India, saying that it hurts Great India. This is not true. Okay, in a certain way it is true, but not entirely accurate if you are assuming we have cheap quality ore.

GoI has only allowed the export of Grade 63, IIRC, and lower Iron ore while Brazil and Australia do not have such restrictions. The higher grade iron ore cannot be exported and is used only in India.

But you can use our ore to make military grade steel. The added benefit of buying Indian ore is that it is cheaper, than say Brazilian(transport costs) or Australian(labor costs) ore regardless of lower quality.

as I said, CHina has enough steel ore,although those are low-grade iron ore....

such low-grade iron ore might add produce cost,,but it doesn't prevent CHina to produce steel.

Iron Ore still far away from Aircraft Carrier dude, let me give you some basic education:
1. 80,000 tons class of AC doesn't mean you need 80,000 steel, since it means just: water discharge
So 80,000 tons class of AC might only need 40,000 tons of steel, since there are other materials

2. China's steel production on 2011 is 650 millions of tons, and one AC need around 3-5 average time for building.
So 40,000./4 tons compares to 650 millions of tons, the volume is quite small

3. The AC and military use of steel are called Special Steel, it quite different from the civil use like Car and Building,
Only few steel factory would do that, It won't affect common use and common consumption of world

4. Comparing those factors, the Iron Ore is just a minor & minor & minor issue...
