They could have 4 carriers by 2030.
They have 1 already 1 is almost completed,so adding 2 more carriers in 10 years doesnt seem too difficult for them.

True. And the next 2 carriers will be nuclear powered 85000 ton class with EMALS. Our only hope is with hypersonic cruise missiles.

This seems more realistic for 2030
With Liaoning and CV17 in the water and one in construction in Shanghai for quite a while... why not? India should buck up and pick up their pace before being left in the dust. Never assume everyone walk at the same pace as the Indian government.

End of 2020 is still 15 months away. Of all the things people say about China, for the most part, staying on schedule has always been one of China's virtue.
Launching & commissioning has a timeline. Gradual progress has to follow on schedule. Nothing will be there in few days.

Of course, launching and commissioning is totally different. In the event of an emergency, that actually make a lot of difference. The US have a lot of decommissioned ships on reserve. A lot can change in a few months after an emergency when these ships are suddenly put into service.

over the past month, it seems no conspicuous changes from the outside. the middle environmental shelter and the major tower crane have moved.

I wonder where these frigate sailors would go? there's no new frigates so far.
Seniors sailors will be given option to retire or serve at training or HQ
Mid experienced and young sailor's will be re-trained to fit in other frigates.

Destroyers? ACs or helicopter carriers? You're making lot of them.
The PLA has drastically started reducing its manpower so you will find a bunch of ex-soldiers manning those ships. As far as how well they are trained, you know the saying teaching an old dog new tricks.

This could very well be a realistic projection of the PLAN in the end of 2020.View attachment 38909
All is good, Its just that flat deck carrier and naval aviatio

Constructing a Carrier and getting a Carrier group operational are two different things, PLAN currently deosn't even have one proper carrier group. The Naval aviation from the carrier is simply not up to the mark.

Indian objectives and resources are different from that of the Chinese, we cannot afford carriers just for the sake of numbers, for us 1-2 are enough with fully operational battle group and naval aviation according to our standards.

The mistake which I feel the Chinese are making is that they are planning an American battle group with Russian designs, Its like using an ice-hockey stick to play field hockey. It may be an intermediate solution before they start producing American designs and equipment upto American standards but until then the basic problems will remain the same, no matter how high they take their numbers. They have a good surface and underwater fleet but that is good only at their coast, to become a true blue water navy they need carriers with a robust naval aviation.

Let's not underestimate them needlessly. China has a lot of manpower which it can train. A lot of young people will want a stable and prestigious job, so they will have no shortage of recruits to train.

The redundancies in the Army get priority over new recruits. They have already paid their bribes,

China is developing its heavy lift helicopter. Its specifications may look like this, comparable to CH-53E, smaller than Mi-26 but is designed to operated in high altitudes and extreme terrain and weather conditions.
