Power equipment from China will be slapped with increased import duty by giving preference to domestic products.

New electronics policy & PMA will crush the telecom equipment imports from China.

It has already started to happen. One way or another, domestic manufacturers will climb a good grip.

Check new electronics policy & power ministry's interest to charge increased duty on imported power equipment.
Indeed, resorting to protectionism is the only way out for India. Indian companies don't stand a chance against Chinese companies without support from Indian government.

Everyone is going after protectionist measures to save domestic companies & create jobs. Look how US is all out to get rid of outsourcing to India.

And btw Bajaj Pulsar is anyday better than china copied gulsar !

Good News ! Its good that we are getting rid of made in china .. garbage products...:cool2:
Dear don't be naive and generalise to say "made in china .. garbage products", China deserve credit for what they have achieved in the past four decades after opening-up of their economy...Well this type of ranting I saw only in the "defensepk" forum against India by the stupid Pakistanis and which is equivalent to "spitting looking at the sky"....

In-fact China is called the global super power in manufacturing industry and India is called the a global super power in service industry, both countries are marching towards a place they deserved to be in, and they are just going to reclaim the place they once had and dominated for thousands of years in global trade and economy...

Our culture never teaches us to undermine anybody's achievement, and also it advice us to be "humble and moderate in our success", well we Indians are now in an era - one of the best we had for the past so many centuries, and to sustain the same level of growth and to march towards further growth we need to be humble and respect who ever deserves it, I am not saying we are inferior to any one but we should not take our success to our head and disregard any one....

FYI :- Once the famous Chinese philosopher, essayist and diplomat (former US ambassador) - Hu Shih said "India Conquered and dominated China culturally for 20 centuries without ever having to send a single soldier across her border.", that's the power of our culture and philosophy which can even admire people from other country to say such great words about our mother land...

Also this is a great news, that our manufacturers are able to dislodge the dominance of Chines low priced goods in India, because we always had an edge over china in many high grade industrial goods because of our expertise and long history of heavy industry, but unlike China our small scale industry have to face lots of hurdles in many parts of India, because of lack of basic proper infrastructure such as power shortage and other hindrance, and even with all this hindrance our manufactures are able to compete with Chines products and increased their share in Indian market, and this is a real achievement and good for our future...

Please watch the below video and you will understand our strength and weakness over China, together we all have to work even harder and take India to greater heights and to be one of the best place to live on this earth...

Part:3

Such retarded propaganda will work with the slaves in China. In India we have .access to information that allows us to differentiate between the BS you post and reality.

The customs duties levied on imported Chinese products is Indian goverment intervention in response to the subsidized tax regime by CCP. CCP has undercut other industrial bases through heavily subsidizing practically every industry. Its the same thing that the US does with agriculture. GOI responds to that by increasing duty of cheap Chinese trash.

If the Chinese feel that Indian customs duties are protectionist, then CCP should go to the WTO.

ice berg and nimo, you should be worried about being employed by your 50 cent army in 12 months time. Already exports are stagnating. April electricity growth flatlined. Imports grew 0.3%. Exports grew 3.4%. The middle kingdom is literally running on fumes. To give you an example, copper ore that was hoarded is now being sold back in the open market to get rid of underutilized inventory. Good luck.

Another false news by chest thumping Indians.

India's trade deficit with China reached 40 billion $ last year. So i don't know which things are we importing less.
Hold on your horses before data shows reduction in trade deficit.

Indians get happy by mere report that they will grow 9% next year while actual growth comes out to be 6-7%.

So after reading the report even Vietnam and Indonesia are preferred over India in manufacturing.:rofl:

May be China has now stopped producing pencil and sharpner due to rise in wage.

Don't worry 10 years down the line we will competing with Somalia in manufacturing.:laugh:

Call me a troll but a nation of 1.21 billion has to import stationary products despite having such low per capita income. :tsk::tsk:

no government on the earth can heavily subsidizing practically every industry, because no government on the earth has enough revenue to do so.

China's export only grow 4% in April compare to last year, one of the slowest growth rate recently. Trading is losing its steam and China can no longer grow out of her way from foreign trading. It's time to move direction from outside to inside.
China's trade statistics are just a glossy as the rest of the books. According to HSBC PMI, goods made for export have been falling for the last 6 months.

the CCP does have the revenue to do so due to plentiful cheap labour.

Output in the capital goods sector contracted by 21.3 per cent as against a growth of 14.5 per cent in the same month last year.

If this is not total collapse, what is?

Why, because China is exporting more capital goods, such as power plants and telecom gears, to India.

Yet people here are dying a happy death learning that China has had a less share of "crumbs" in the tiny Indian market.

Please read post 50 and respond to why China is flatlining. We are still growing at 7%.

Western Medias really like to compare India to China, two of the most important developing countries that pose greatest challenge to their established rule.
I'm wondering why Indian and Chinese always enjoy playing their games and bashing each other. Maybe our countries are developing so our minds and views are evolving as well

I think Indian labor is cheaper than China, that is why some Labour-intensive business move to India from China. And the ability of continuely providing cheap labor is the key factor for Indian's development in recent years. Wish your goverment can let them have a comparable good education and training.

After all, competition of the country is the competition of the people.

well, the per capital nominal GDP of India is just 1/4-1/3 of CHina's ,so is the average wage of India.

India's labour is much cheaper than China's ,but it don't means that cost of business activity in India is lower than CHina, due to its poor infrastructure ,inefficient beurocrafty system and high illiteracy.
